I had a Shih-Tzu that died well over 10 years ago and I just didn't feel I was ready to get another dog. I loved him dearly but he was dumb as a rock. I was at a friend's house and saw this really wonderful and funny little dog and asked her what kind of dog he was and she told me he was a maltipoo and she couldn't say enough good things about him.So I did a little research - including buying this book - and went out and got one. I really didn't think I was going to get another dog and if I did, I swore that I was going to not only get a rescue but an older dog, but I went and got a little maltipoo puppy and we named him Vinnie.From this book, I learned how important it was to get a dog like this from the right breeder. Even though I donate monthly to our local non-kill animal shelter and to the ASPCA and WWF, I did (do) feel some guilt from the amount of money I spent on this little guy. But I think it was the right thing do, as recommended in this book, and as a result we have a very healthy, happy little dog and a life-time warranty against any congenital diseases. They even paid for the first few months of his insurance and were there to answer all questions.Vinnie is an amazing little guy. This book really nailed the pros and cons of this breed. They are such funny, sweet, playful and so very very smart. I took the advice in the book about training and grooming and sure enough, at age one we heard his first bark.I thought that this book was quite helpful. Of course there are many variations with personalities, but this breed really is terrific in so many ways. My only negative would be that he has way more energy than I have and I wish that would slow down a little bit - but I don't think that's going to happen for a while. Meanwhile, he makes us laugh every single day.

Filled with useful need to know information. Well written and an easy read. A great source of reference for new Maltipoo owners and nice guide to keep on hand.

Good info

It gave up to date information on this breed of dog. It has become a reference book for raising my four in a half month puppy

Honestly, I had such high hopes for this book. We were considering purchasing a maltipoo so I purchased this book as part of my research. The book offered no maltipoo specific advice. It was all very generic information and the author does not seem overly knowledgable on the topic he is writing about. It is as though he has owned one maltipoo and wrote about his one experience. I would not recommend this book to those searching or an informative read about maltipoos.

I adopted a Maltipoo from the city pound but knew nothing. Its my "go to" book. I ordered it right away so I couldgive her the best of care. She is 3 yo & doing wonderfully, Thank you for the manual..

Very detailed. LOTS of useful info and advice for a first time puppy owner. Great book.

Good book

This book is full of practical advice from the first to the last page. Lots of tips and savvy advice. A very good summary of everything you need to know to look after your Maltipoo. Can't say anything negative about this book. Soo much information in it.
