Hand Corker - Single Lever - France

This works really well. We soaked the corks for about 60 seconds in boiling water and it was great.

It is extremely difficult to use. It requires a lot of strength to compress the cork, and even more strength to push it into the bottle because it is extremely difficult to keep it in place straight. I have ruined 2 corks to get the third in only 3/4 of the way - I had to finish the job using a wooden stick and rubber mallet, hammering the cork the remaining amount. I only purchased this to cork a few magnum bottles that wouldn't fit into my bench corker. I can not imagine using it to put the closure in cases of bottles.

Difficult to use. None of us have figured it out. Inexpensive so didn't return.

First of all, it's made in Portugal, not France. What a piece of crap! The spring was rusting before I even used it for the first time. The collar that sits over the top of the bottle is nowhere near the size of a wine bottle neck...much larger, so you can't align the cork with the opening. The plunger is so difficult to operate, even my husband and I pushing on it together barely made it move. I poured my wine back in the carboy and will go to my local brew shop and pick up a cheap plastic one. Anything has to work better than this piece of junk. Save yourself some money and a lot of aggravation. Steer clear of this worthless piece of junk.

This thing is great! I ordered it because it was the cheapest but it works like a dream.

cant beat if for the price! works like a charm.

Came in an unmarked plastic bag, and looked very dirty with a little bit of rust on it. Smells like metal even after washing and bleaching it. Doesn't take too much strength to use.
