Wish the book had pictures when instructing leg positions
Since I've never had, or participated in Reiki, I really appreciate that the author outlines what happens in a typical Reiki session. The author listed advantages to Reiki such as it's simple, safe, uncomplicated, it's not connected to any religion, and requires no manipulation of the body.5 principles: Attitude of gratitude, do not worry, do not be angry, honesty, respect all living beings.3 pillars: Your body, your mind, caring & treating others with kindness and respect.Process of attunement: consider fasting for detoxification 3 days prior, refrain from consuming fish, meat, and drugs, no alcohol, caffeine, sweets or smoking 3 days prior. Meditate daily, no TV, news or radio 1 week prior. Do not participate in activities that drain your energy, but engage in moderate exercise 1 week prior. Create a safe, comfortable meditation space, cleanse your aura, drink plenty of water, and get good sleep.then the book goes into attunement exercise, chakras, and meditation. Wish the book had pictures when instructing leg positions and what not.

Very Good Book
Itโs a good book. I learned some things about myself after reading this book, which I didnโt know. I have anxiety! Itโs an interesting concept about โattunementโ - where you channel your energy with the help of an instructor. I donโt have an instructor, but have decided to give it a try on my own until I do. Meditation and visualization are a key concept with this discipline. After a little research, I discovered that Reiki is not necessarily attached to any specific religion. I am a christian, and I donโt feel that the practices defined in this method go against my spiritual beliefs. I would recommend this book to people struggling with depression, anxiety, or just wanting to find the place of serenity, where they can discover who they truly are and learn to believe in themselves. Iโll probably read through it again! Blessings.

A good starting point for learning reiki
I got this book free on kindle so I wasn't really expecting a while lot from it especially when it said average read time is about an hour. That in mind, it is an excellent book. It's informative without being annoying & I only caught 1 typo. What it really needs though is pictures. There's a section where it describes hand positions & the phrase "hands come together" gets used a lot. Knowing nothing about reiki & not having pictures made it trail easy to get lost there. This was a nice quick start but I'm going to need other books, videos, or classes before I could say I've gotten a complete guide to reiki.

A great book to start with.
I recently read about reiki on a blog and I was curious about its working and its meaning. This book provides a perfect introduction to the topic. The author has answers many basic questions in the start and then takes deeper dive into advanced topics. Many important topics like The five Principles of Reiki, The three pillars of Reiki and many more topics were covered. All the topics are covered in concise and to-the-point manner. The concept of chakras was new for me and I found it very interesting. At last, I would recommend this book to anyone new reiki or who wants to know more about it.

Detailed Intro guide.
I first heard about Reiki when one if my favorite comedians mentioned in one of her stand ups that she provides reiki services to clients on the side. I never knew what it meant until I came across this book.Although it goes into a very detailed description, I have yet recommendations. I wish it had pictures instead of mere descriptions of symbols and positions and I wish of flowed better or was written as more of a step by step guide. I'm still confused s little about the subject matter.

What is the greatest calling but to heal others?
Looking for something to do after retiring in a few months & what could be more important than healing others? Since making the decision to learn rieki, I've stumbled on more & more about it. I've bought a couple of books & found a master locally, but am starting with this book because it was said to be the place to start & I am not disappointed. This is a great overview.

Nice outline of Reiki
This short book is fairly comprehensive and organized well for the reader. It appears to include everything but the attunement itself. I did question the part about asking for anything you want and getting it after meditating on prosperity and abundance. Some resources would have been helpful, too.

Good information
It's not a comelete guide to Reiki , it's just an introduction to what it's all about and its benifits and the way to use . Stil more in-depth guidence and knowledge would make more people to practice it exactly how it should be , but this is good to start and whatever has been said in the book does need efforts and dedication to start and reap the benefits.
