Works Great Especially for Off Road
I don't use this to tow anything heavy. I have an Outback and I have a cargo rack to go camping. I really like using this as I can put the rack on the top and it gives me some extra clearance when going off road. I haven't had any issues and it feels well build and reliable. I don't know other reasons to use this but I would recommend this product.

Stronger than expected!
I bought this so I could move my snowmobile trailer around my yard without firing up the tow rig.Super impressed with the sturdiness.Why? I had a dead car stuck in the mud that is my rusty acres. Normally I would put a recovery hook on the hitch of my Foreman 450. I hammered down with a snatch strap a few times and this thing held up. Well past it's operating parameters.Complaints? Fitment in the receiver is a bit loose. That may be the adapter on my quad though.

Wrong hole size
This adapter fits rather loosely in my opinion, which wasn't the worse part. The hole for the pin on the 1 1/4" side was drilled to the size for the 2" side pin. I was pressed for time and HAD to have this done so I ended up buying a 3/8" stainless pipe nipple, and sleeved the hole in this adapter to make the pin fit snug and hold. It would have been extremely loose had I not done this.

Allowed me to get full use of my Kuat bike rack
When combined with a Kuat bike rack on a Toyota Tacoma, this adapter allows for the tailgate to lower with about 1 in clearance of the rack. Super helpful.
