A Smoother Faster Commute
These are very nice tires. I had been running a Maxxis tire of the same size (700x38) on my commuter bike but these have a noticeably more supple casing. They feel smoother and faster. They mounted easily on the rims using only thumbs and the bead seats very well. I have not been using them long enough to provide feedback on puncture resistance. In general you get what you pay for and Schwalbe tires are on the expensive end. However, if you ride a bike much you will notice the difference a tire with a more supple casing (like the Marathon Racer) makes - even during relatively short trips around town.

Tire Quality Issues - Defective Rejects?
Bought two Schwalbe Marathon Racer 700x38 tires, and have an issue with the quality of these tires sold by this seller. One tire has hundreds of 1/4" long molding nubs sticking out all along the treaded area, and the other has no nubs at all. Odd. I took the time to trim them down as far as possible. That inconsistency in quality makes me think that these tires are manufacturer's defective rejects, and that is reflected in the pricing. I've previously purchased four of these tires directly from the Schwalbe website with no complaints at all, but this price is lower so I took a chance. Too much trouble to return them, but I would never buy from this vendor again.
