This is a good Unit to start "Prospecting " with.
Watch your sensitivity settings for the targets your hunting for, the instructions were well implied to the equipment at hand, I would recommend that you get a " Pin Pointer", to go with your unit, I have enjoyed mine on Various field trips. I would give it a very Good rating.

A fun and helpful tool!
The media could not be loaded. My husband and I wanted to try using a metal detector because we had seen a friend have some fun and find some really neat things with it. So we did some research and bought this one, we are not disappointed! It works as stated with a really clear and easy to use LCD screen. The headphones are helpful to use to really identify what the sound means. The instructions were clear and set up was easy. This is a great buy, our kids can't wait to try it out also!

A lot of false reads
There were a lot of false reads and is not as functional as it seems.

Very easy to use and get results. Read the instructions. First time out found a t stake that is a 8$ find. Waiting for the time I find coins!

Total trash
I used the older White and Garret detectors before. Very good. Now years later decided to get into it again, and bought this. It is NOT ground balancing as advertised. Every step, every swing this thing is beeping. My old Garret you hit a button on handle when it got like this and it would reinitialize. Apparently the "auto" type is just hype and flat out untruth. Every step it is driving you insane with all the beeping, like once a second. Every step, every swing.The only way to settle it is to turn the sensitivity down to no more than a 3 or 4, and then it won't pick up anything. Planted coins about 1" all corners of garden, on 3 it won't pick them up, go up to the 7 default and it is beeping EVERY swing, EVERY step. This is nothing more than a child's toy to please them with all the racket is making. Every coin I did get all show up as IRON or FOIL with the low beep. EVERYTHING I tested on, pennies, quarters, nickels, dime, nail, all is listed as either iron or foil. It has yet to get anything right. As I said, just a non-balancing noisy toy. I expected better at the $180 tag. Should have bought a better one. Buyer beware!!
