Nightmare
My original review is below. It's now 6 months later and I can't even explain how awful this thing has become. It is sooooooo soft now it bends you while you sleep. My wife and I have never been in so much pain in our lives. Time to swallow our $800 mistake and start the mattress search again!First I just want to say that I was VERY nervous about buying this bed online and having it shipped via Fedex to me. I can say now that if you are reading this review thinking the same thing, it is packaged very well. It came in a box and was double wrapped (with one layer being the thickest plastic I've ever felt) and banded. It came in perfect shape.I work in a store that sells mattresses, and if you are shopping for one you should know that the markup is 4-5 times the cost. Knowing that, I never thought that the quality of the bed would be poor. It is very easy to produce a high quality mattress and sell it for $799 shipped while taking home a profit. I like this mattress. It is on the firm side for memory foam, and if you go lay on a Tempurpedic bed, you will find they are very often more plush than this bed. Yes, it does have the typical new memory foam smell, and for the first day it will be pretty strong. After that, throw a mattress cover and a sheet on it and you will be fine.As far as longevity, I don't expect to get more than 5-6 years out of a mattress and 10 out of a foundation. I don't care what the warranty is, good luck getting anything replaced if the bed doesn't have a visible sag. Most product these days will rebound back to its original shape but will lose it's supportive qualities long before it is visibly sagging. Hopefully I get that out of this and it doesn't fail to perform after only 3 years.Go to a store and ask to try out a memory foam bed and tell them you prefer a firm mattress. That should give you a decent idea of what this bed will sleep like. If you like that then give this a try. Just realize that if you don't like it, there's pretty much no way you are going to be able to package this up and ship it back.

Cured joint pain! Even better than I imagined!
First of all, let me say that before I got this bed I was having significant joint problems. It was a medical problem I'd had my whole life, and as I've gotten older, it was becoming unbearable. I didn't know what else to do other than take supplements & daily Tylenol, etc., but it wasn't enough. Once we found out that we were going to have a child, I knew that I needed to do something more proactive. I'd always heard that memory foam was a much more comfortable alternative to traditional beds, and I'd heard other people say it really helped their aching joints, so I figured I had nothing to lose. After I got this bed, everything changed. My joint pain went away within 2 weeks, and I haven't had to take a single joint supplement or Tylenol...even as my pregnancy progresses! I have to say, I'm only in my 30's & I didn't realize just how "old" I felt all day, every day....just because I was sleeping on the wrong bed. I will always have joint issues, but this bed has seriously changed my life. I feel younger, there's no pain left at all, and I feel more rested. I COULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS BED MORE HIGHLY. In fact, I'm recommending this exact bed to my entire family. Later, I also added a memory foam pillow ("YouMe" memory foam pillow) to enhance the experience...This is not a review simply written immediately after receiving the bed...I waited several months before writing this review, because I really wanted to see the lasting results. I also did some serious research before choosing this exact bed & it was worth it...It's a GREAT deal on a TOP quality bed, and I'm never going back to a traditional bed again.

Great Mattress, Great Price
I've been sleeping on this mattress for two weeks, and I couldn't be happier. It arrived on time, though the box looked like it had been dragged from where it shipped in Arizona to my doorstep. Can't really blame Amazon or the manufacturer for that though.As is clear from the other reviews and from the shipping weight, this mattress weighs a ton. Picture moving a decent sized dead body that has been vacuum packed. Or don't, if you prefer. But if you're little, get some help. If you live up above the ground floor, REALLY get some help. Once in place, the weight is a benefit. You won't have to worry about this mattress sliding all over the place. I'd recommend a low platform bed to give this proper support and to keep it fairly low. a 10" platform is ideal to give you just over two feet above the floor. The queen size sheets still fit perfectly despite the 14" thickness of the mattress.My initial impression was that the mattress was too firm. I don't know if I didn't give it enough time to properly decompress or if I just got used to it, but ever since the first night, it feels pretty much identical to the Tempurpedic grand bed that it is a very good knock off of. It feels firm and supportive, but has a good cushioning layer on top before you hit the support layer. For the first 10 seconds or so after laying down, you feel the mattress conforming around you. My quality of sleep has been the best I've had in years, and I don't regret the $800 purchase.I haven't had any difficulty turning over or changing position. It does take a few seconds for the bumps from your prior position to smooth out, but that is the case with any decent quality memory foam mattress. If you don't get that effect, it isn't high density memory foam. The mattress actually sleeps ever so slightly cooler than my prior one, so it looks like that dual airflow feature isn't entirely hype.The mattress case seems to be high quality material, though I could have honestly done without the gold rope trim. But that's going to be covered by the sheets anyway. It appears exactly as pictured above, though I found the color to be lighter brown than it appears in the picture.When placed on a flat surface, it has very good motion isolation. I haven't tried the whole wineglass test because I have no desire to stain my new mattress, but I can't feel my girlfriend moving around on her side when we're sleeping. I gather this effect is lost to some degree if you use it with a box spring.Keep in mind it is just over medium firm. Though my girlfriend loves squishy pillow top mattresses but still really likes sleeping on this one. I've suffered from backaches in my lower back for the past two years, that has been slowly going away over the past week, and I had immediate relief of some of it after just the first night.The off-gassing smell from the mattress was actually pretty minimal. It was one of those smells that you notice for the first few minutes in the room then can't smell after your nose gets used to it. Similar to that new shoe/new car smell. It has almost completely gone away at this point two weeks in, though the first night, I noticed my shirt smelled of it after sleeping. You would get this with any new memory foam mattress. My girlfriend is extremely sensitive to smells and gets violent headaches, and this wasn't an issue for her sleeping on it the first night.anyway,Over all, I feel this was a good call. If you're hesitating, I'd recommend you don't. There's nothing wrong with this mattress, and a lot of things right.
