Digitally remastered edition of this 1991 collaboration between British vocalist Jon Anderson (Yes) and Greek keyboardist Vangelis. Page of Life was released by Arista Records and was the last of the Jon & Vangelis albums. Recorded in Athens and Rome, the album was wonderful collection of songs and instrumental work, blending perfectly the instrumental genius of Vangelis and the lyrical and vocal majesty of Jon. This reissue features a rare and sought after bonus track, 'Sing with Your Eyes', released only as part of the highly limited and promotional 'Wisdom Chain' CD single in 1991. It also includes a booklet that restores the original album artwork. Esoteric.

Vangelis truly did his Magic here
WOW! in true Vangelis fashion this release has hit the spot. The remastering is one of the best I have heard. Jon's voice is as if he is up front with Vangelis, and he did Jon's voice justice here. Truly a gem to own and worth the moderate price. This release contains a very sought after Jon & Vangelis song that is next to impossible find anywhere..." Sing With Your Eyes" is recorded with the care it deserved Vangelis combined the first and second releases and with only one exception I missed on this album was "Change We Must " which was on the second release of "Page of Life" which had some remixes by Jon Anderson of the original tracks, mostly vocal, but this was a true Vangelis project and he held tight to the original versions. Something that I knew was going to be the rule, and the sound tells me that this was the right thing to do for this remastering. Buy it, love it, over and over again.

It's a CD. What does one expect.
It did come in a somewhat less durable paper cover rather than plastic. I'm good with that. There's too much plastic in the oceans already. It does have a lyrics book.

A fabulous Page..
Love these two together the fine and soft vocals by Jon Anderson and the lush sounds of those Keyboards and other effects by the maestro Vangelis make this an awesome album. Chilling out to these gorgeous songs especially in the evening is a sheer delight. I highly recommend buying this album as Jon and Vangelis have no fewer than 4 other delightful albums for you to hear.

Page of Life. Love it. YES -3 to me.
I love Jon in YES. I love Jon solo (especially Olias of Sunhillow and Change We Must ). This is just as good (debatable), but very different and verrry mellow[...] Listen with a glass of wine and nothing to do, nowhere to go... If so, you will see, you will hear, you will be. Vangelis creates a tapestry of cosmic buoyancy for Jon's voice. Love is what I hear. I love this music. D.W.

No "Short Stories"
All my favorite musicians have disappointed me. As an avid Yes fan since 1970, I'm used to disappointment by now. There probably won't be any more albums on the level of "Tales From Topographic Oceans" or "Olias Of Sunhillow".I have the import version of "Page Of Life". It is not a masterpiece like "Short Stories" and "The Friends Of Mr. Cairo".There are a few nice parts, but I can't find one song for which I would recommend buying this disc. Sorry. Maybe I'm too critical, but I know that Jon & Vangelis are capable of much better music than this. The only recent Yes release that I've enjoyed has been "Open Your Eyes" from a few years ago. It's reminiscent of the first two Asia albums, which I also liked. (Asia even had a song called "Open Your Eyes"!)Now there is a new Yes album, "Magnification", scheduled to be released on December 4th. (The eighth anniversary of Frank Zappa's death. Pretty spooky.)I hope it will be as good as "Open Your Eyes", but I won't be surprised if I'm disappointed again.

The Best Version of Page of Life
This CD was released in 1998 on Higher Octave lable and it was release of the album Page of Life (1991) for the American market. Main part of the songs from Page of Life were recorded even earlier - back in the 80s.It's easy to note differences between two versions of this album. As editor and producer Jon Anderson worked for Higher Octave very professionally. Here you will find very impressive new song "Change We Must" (though it was edited and shortened), different tracklist (it's much more easy to listen to Jon's choice of the songs), improved sound, slightly different mixes of some tracks. In general - this edition of the album is much more impressive.Sad but Jon released this CD without proper approvement from Vangelis side. Because of it for now (2014) this album is the last studio work from Jon&Vangelis project. I can understand Vangelis, but I can understand Jon too - from my point of view he saved Page of Life.If you didn't heard Page of Life - start with this edition. If you are having official 1991 version - this edition would be pleasant gift for you.

Not what it said on the box/listing...
The thing is, I already had this cd but bought it as the listing said it was the reissue with the extra track Change We Must. I didn’t look closely enough at the cover photo which showed clearly that it is exactly the same as the CD I already have! So, full marks for an enjoyable CD, zero for false advertising and somewhere in the middle for looooong delivery time.
