Veggie Grater
Very difficult to hold and use. Seems likely that you will grate your fingers. It does grate carrots ok and that's what I bought it for. Very difficult to clean. Wood looks nice but you can't put it in the dishwasher.

It works fine
It works fine for very specific vegetables. Carrots, cabbage, and other hard vegetables shred well. It is a very simple shredder and does make me a little nervous because I tend to be a little klutzy with sharp implements and there are no safety mechanisms. It is also a little difficult to clean as the teeth are very sharp. Oiling the wood before use will cut down on the staining from brighter colored vegetables.

Unique but familiar kitchen tool
I was given this Wooden Grater for free in order to provide an unbiased review as part of Amazon's Vine program. I selected this product because it was touted as being useful in making a salad which crossed 3 cultures. I was so excited to try it out that I didn't fully read the instructions. I should have oiled it before using it for the first time, but oh well, no harm done. I started by testing carrots of different lengths. Regardless of the size, the shredded carrot produced was the same length. Then I decided to make my mom's carrot-beet-apple salad. The beet worked just fine, but the apple was too soft to be used on this wooden grater. I ended up slicing the apple by hand. The carrots were grated to almost a tube/cylinder-like shape. It added a unique texture to my mom's salad. My sister oiled the wood grater after I cleaned it but there is a residue of carrot and beet colors. That's on me. The part of the grater that scares me a little are the very strong teeth. I have the same issue with metal graters. With either one, I have to be careful using it so that I don't scrape a knuckle or finger. I hope this helps you!

Shreds things very finely. A little tough to clean.
I bought this specifically so that I can shred cabbage very very finely. It doesn't admirable job with that. It does take some time because the slot that the cabbage goes through is very small. It is a wooden base with little metal teeth. It is made of a plain wood, so you might want to treat it with coconut oil to keep it from staining if you're going to use colorful items on it. It does not work so well with soft vegetables, only hard ones like cabbage and carrots. Little bits of the vegetables do get stuck in the middle teeth and so you have to work those pieces out a little bit when you clean it. Overall, if you want a simple mechanism to do very fine shredding or grating, I would recommend this.

Terrible product
I would not even want to give this product 1 star. The construction quality is bad. The wood pieces are rough on the edge, not sanded to smooth at all. The piece are held together with a few small nails and there are visible gaps between the wood pieces. The worst part is that it does not grate the carrots as expected. The blade is very dull and it is more like smashing than grating the carrots. And design is flawed too, the back of the grater blade traps the output. This goes right into the trash can. Wasted my butcher block oil, since the instruction asked to oil the wood pieces before use. Do not buy.
