Product description Just before all commercial hell broke loose for Chris Isaak, he made another record drenched in reverb, salty tears (he'll have you believe his heart is forever being broken), and the scent of lust. Ignoring the wave of pop and punk-inspired rock that was gaining notice in the late 1980s, Isaak continued in his adoration for artists like Roy Orbison and Elvis (uh, Presley), and wailed on "Cryin'", "Lie to Me", and "You Owe Me Some Kind of Love". Isaak's bad-boy tease is irresistible on "Lover's Game", and he exudes a hopeful, endearing optimism on "This Love Will Last", His classic "Blue Hotel" steals the show (he should have earned his fame on this track instead of "Wicked Game"), and his cover of "Heart Full of Soul" (originally done by the Yardbirds) is faithful and passionate. --Lorry Fleming .com Just before all commercial hell broke loose for Chris Isaak, he made another record drenched in reverb, salty tears (he'll have you believe his heart is forever being broken), and the scent of lust. Add this one to your collection!
If you're a true fan of Chris Isaak, you will love this cd. I've never been disappointed by him. Every album I have of his I can play repeatedly without getting bored. This one is no different. So well produced. Silvertone sounds incredible and Chris' beautiful falsetto voice is so easy on the ears.

Self-Titled Sophomore Strong
Chris Isaak does a nice job of continuing on with his cool, crooner style rock and roll sound. This was actually the first full album I heard from Chris Isaak, with his “Heart Shaped World” album being the second before I finally heard his debut. The great thing, though, is that you don’t have to listen to his albums in order. He delivers great tunes with each release. My favorites from this record would be “Heart Full Of Soul”, “Blue Hotel”, “Lie To Me” and “Fade Away”.

First CD sets the tone for his career
Like most people, I learned about Chris Isaak a few albums into his career, after the hit "Wicked Game." Then I saw him in concert and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen--and I have seen hundreds as a fan and music reviewer. From the start, with this album, Isaak showed his smooth sound, combining the voices of Roy Orbison and Elvis Presley into a new sound for a new generation. And he added just enough guitar solos to make it interesting for axe fans.As far as the songs go, there are many delights here--"You Owe Me Some Kind of Love," "Blue Hotel," "Wild Love," "You Took My Heart" and Lover's Game." And for those of us who remember the British Invasion, Isaak's version of "Heart Full of Soul" is refreshing. I just wish I had purchased this CD years ago.

Chris Isaak
Perhaps one of the most gifted crooners this country has to offer. You will never be disappointed by any of his music. His first 2 albums are probably his best. Be sure to get those first. When you hear Blue Spanish Sky, I dare you not to cry.

An unheralded collection of gems before stardom struck
An unheralded gem from Chris Isaak before his stardom struck. Every song is a standout, and I would recommend this to anyone with even a vague appreciation of Mr. Isaak. He sings his f'n heart out on the outstanding collection. Pick it up soon!

Good Album
Reminds me of Roy Orbison, great lyrics, and has a blues feel to them.

Defective cd.
CD was defective and ruined my cd changer in my Bose. It would not play nor would it eject. By the time it did eject it was too late to return. I now have to replace my cd changer. Needless to say I was not happy.

Chris isaak the album
One of my favorite albums. I have had some songs previously on other albums. I wanted to have this album. I bought one to listen to on the long days we have had due to lockdown. Takes me back to freedom and long hot summer lazing around and being with others. Escapism at its best. Easy on the ears too. We all need something to improve boredom, improve our lives right now and this album is that!!!!

His 2nd album to be released
Just as good as the first and subsequent albums, with his infamous hit "Blue Hotel". A must own for any true fan, his voice just gets better and better.
