Well, I bought the filter cover wrench on the right at first from Amazon. Of course as you can see it failed dramatically. Although it is Made in the USA, the thoughts and ideas was not in existence when it was made by our folks at home. This thing slipped and could not grab the filter cover so badly. I have been taking our car to the shop for a simple oil change. It fits but just couldn't turn without slipping. The Caldera on the other hand, as you can see has teeth on it which grabs the filter housing grooves. The Caldera grasp and hold the filter cover perfectly that it will take the cover off without slipping. Once off do not, I repeat, do not try to remove the wrench from the filter cover. Just replace the filter and install it back to the car. The wrench will come off on its own when you are tightening the cover back to the car. Caldera is the one that will work for your Toyota oil filter cover housing. Do not buy the one on the right or any other ones that looks similar. I actually would like to get a refund from Amazon on the other one that failed. Im giving the Caldera a 4 star because this could've been made with a 1/2 inch drive instead of the smaller 1/4 inch. Other than that, for the price, it is the best one to get.

My Prius came off of dealer maintenance period a few months ago. It is time to change engine oil, so I bought the tool to change oil myself. However, the last dealer mechanic must have overtightened the filter housing, it was stuck. I have the car off the ground (on Quickjack) hoping to gain leverage to undo the filter. I did gain leverage but the filter housing won over this piece of broken aluminum.

I purchased this filter wrench because it appeared on line to be good quality metal wrench but when I received it I found that I would not sit down over the entire oil cartridge cover/cap on my Prius. Consequently during the removal of the oil filter cartridge cover/cap this wrench bound and made it virtually impossible to remove the two pieces from one another without prying or hammering to get them apart. Not a good time to find out that this wrench is sized too small for my Prius oil filter cartridge/cover. It appears that this tool need a dimensional check because it will not fully engage down over the entire/cover properly. I contacted Amazon to have it returned and refunded.

This filter cap wrench works great! I recently purchased a 2010 Prius time came for a oil change and I found the oil filter cap was so over torqued that my other Toyota filter cap wrenches purchased off the tool trucks would just slip off when I started forcing on them. I ordered this as a last resort to breaking the cap and replacing it. This wrench with a large breaker bar took the plastic cap right off without damage! Money well spent! I work at a local repair shop and look foward to using this quality tool!

Works with the Toyota corolla well, broke a section off of it trying to get filter off, does seem very durable and sticks on the filter a bit.

Wrench is seemingly well made however the fitment is too tight. At first I thought maybe I didn't have it on straight but that was NOT the issue. I ended up having to tap it on with a dead blow hammer which created another issue as it was quite difficult if not impossible to remove. The tolerances are just too tight, perhaps a few thousandths under, and that makes this difficult and frustrating to use.

Was in a pinch and needed this item in a hurry, fit perfectly arrived super fast and is of decent quality...Made the oil change a breeze overall positive experience

It is an extremely good fit. You have to make sure that it is on correctly and on ALL the way on the oil filter cover. It fit so snug and well, I left it on the oil filter cover after an oil change...and also because I forgot.

I thought this was compatible with my 2014 Corolla S as the description said. It just fit half way. When we did our change oil, we didn't have any choice but to force it in the oil filter cartridge, as we already drained the oil and we need to change the filter as well. Well, luckily the cartridge came out but this product broke a "tooth". This was mu experience; i hope it will help future customer.
