Best Exercise Device Purchase In a Long While
I travel a lot and have taken resistance bands and suspension trainers on trips with me in the past. I have found that resistance bands just don't have the same satisfying feel that regular weights do. The suspension trainer was better but you need to hook it to a door and one time it (and my prodigious body weight) knocked the door out of aliment and I almost couldn't get out of my room. So I started looking for portable weight solutions that used water. One product looked good but between it and the extra water insert, it was over $100.Then I stumbled on the drybell. While there are couple of similar products that state you can use sand, only the drybell specifically stated that you could use water. At at only $16 I decided to take the leap. The first thing I noticed was that the other reviewer's reports were true that if you use water it will leak out the top. So I did what the seller advised and used a white kitchen trash bag as a liner and tied it off inside the bag. I have been using the bag everyday for two weeks and it has stayed bone dry in that configuration. At the house I have regular dumbbells, medicine balls and some metal kettle bells, but I have found myself grabbing the drybell as my default exercise device. I like the soft sides and the way it molds to my arm. True it's not a massive amount of weight for two handed exercises, but I just do more reps. I haven't traveled with it yet, but based on my experience at home I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone. I paid full price for the product and was not compensated in any way for my review.

Worthless if you want to fill it with water
I'm sure this works reasonably well if you fill it with sand but is worthless if you want to use water. The bag has no tight seal, so having filled it with water all you have is a bag of water that is open at the top. As soon as you pick it up the water spills everywhere.Worthless

Great for traveling, little awkward
Great idea, I do really like it since I travel often. But for workouts other than simple curls (which it’s only about 25lbs) it’s awkward. Over head presses are decent, you get a lot of instability because of the water and that’s great for control but I’m struggling to find other exercises to use it for

Cheap and portable
Cheap and portable option. The same weight in kettlebell might cost 70 to 100 bucks. 50lbs of sand is only $5 at hardware stores. Easy to fill and empty. Padded handle is comfortable enough. Been durable so far. Has vinyl odor that goes away after a few days. You can use these for farmer's carry, stair climbing, kettlebell swings, and maybe throw inside a backpack for rucking.

Least expensive way to convert dumbells and plates to kettlebell use, but handle is weak
I like the whole idea of this bag, which you can put anything in. I think it a great solution for people like me who want to get into kettlebells inexpensively by using their old plates and even dumbells inside. The strong, 19" long waterproof bag and attached webbing loops could probably support twice the 10 kg it's rated for. I knock off two points for coming installed with delicate plastic attachments from there, that resemble what you'd find on cheap luggage. A ring and the handle snap broke on me very soon after I got it. The attachments to the webbing should be metal rings. There should be more substantial handles than the straps provided.

Working out around the world
Since I ordered this in July, I have worked out with it— mostly using it as a kettlebell— across Europe, throughout the US, and in Cambodia and Australia. I am basically in love with this thing, and credit it with not only helping me not lose fitness while being on tour for my book and researching the next one, but actually improving my fitness. I’m just filling it with water in each hotel room— so easy. I’ve had no real problems with it leaking, even doing kettlebell swings. The only problem is that my hands ripped a bit from all the daily swinging, but I think that would have happened with any weight and it was easily solved with some bandaids for cushioning and being more mindful of my grip. For some reason I hate resistance bands— I just don’t find them satisfying— but this? This is fun. I’m home now, and I filled it before even unpacking my suitcases and stole a quick jet-lagged workout in before having to go to a dinner. Just perfect.

Buckle is right where your hands go
Great concept, but the buckle is right where your hands go and despite the additional wrap, I was unbuckling the handle every 3 or 4th swing

Great with Sand and lifts - NOT Swings
I bought a couple of these before a Xmas break to the Canaries - I have to say they performed pretty well. I can’t imagine using these with water - that feels like a kind of madness….- but with damp sand I borrowed from the beach they worked a treat - I filled 2 of the 16kg ones and they were more like 18kg.Because they become quite long when you fill them they can become awkward to do shoulder presses but half full, 10kg, I’m sure the size would have been fine. I used them for squats, adapted presses, overhead squats,RDL,BSS and farmer/suitcase walks. My next trip however I will probably use resistance bands as they are overall probably more versatile on a road trip. I got them at a decent price so they are still excellent value to me as an additional bell at home.
