Piano Scales & Arpeggios, ABRSM Grade 1: from 2021 (ABRSM Scales & Arpeggios)

This is a very thin booklet, just a few pages long. It’s not a complete book of scales and arpeggios for beginners, it’s just the few that you need to learn to pass the exam. It’s not worth buying this brand new, as you’ll use it for the short time you need to prepare for the the exam and then it will be useless after that. You are better off buying it secondhand for a much more reasonable price and then buying a scales and arpeggios book.

Not value for money.To save money, you could borrow or photo copy this book from your friend or teachers to practice it.

Excellent Book!I really don’t know why people complain. This is the ABRSM Scales and Arpeggios for Grade 1. It only has a few pages because there are only a few scales for Grade 1. If you want a book full of different scales then this is not the book for you. I buy these for my children as they prepare for their ABRSM scales.

The books as a product are exactly what they should be. Sadly the three star rating is based purely on the fact that the delivery driver bent the package in order to shove it through the letter box. Thankfully these are for me to keep rather than for my students to have.

At more than £1 per page I can only imagine how shiney the publishers brass necks are. It's disgusting that they think that parents should pay £5 for 4 sheets/8 sides of a4 paper. I can imagine their fat cat board meetings, rubbing their hands together and laughing about what they can get parents to fork out. I mean £5 for 4 sheets of paper!
