Lots of storage at low price, a bit noisy
Got 3 of these for my Sinology 918p as an expansion. The best thing about this drives is low cost and good speed. I have now 16Gbx3, plenty of space for a small home NAS.My previous disks were 6TB configured in RAID5. Expansion worked pretty well exactly as described in Sinology guide, replacing disks one by one. Took a lot of time although this is probably because my previous drives were pretty slow. The main issue with these drives - they are REALLY loud. If you plan to use it in your living space, better look for something more quiet. However, in my case it is not really a problem since the NAS is installed in the storage. After working for few weeks, my stock NAS PSU (~8A 12V) failed, so I had to replace the stock PSU with 12V 10A PSU. Works perfectly since then. I noticed that NAS consumption with 3 drives is somewhere around 3A under full load. Each drive is taking ~500-700ma.Some reports here were pointing that these disks are running hot. I did find them a bit hotter (35-36C in Sinology) but not dramatically (2-3C difference max).Overall I'd say a good drive, all came defect free and working well so far (knocking wood).

Original with Real Warranty
The seller Kingdisk-Store is amazing, and the products are authentic. I check the warranty status on the Seagate website and it shows that their warranty are valid till May 2027, more than 5 years.

Dead on arrival
1) It claims to be a prime product. It isn't. It ships from the US. It is not shipped by Amazon.2) The packaging is not Seagate's. It appears to be re-packaged in a cheap anti-static bag, with some bubble wrap all around.3) Once connected it started making clanky noises. The bios doesn't see the HDD.Just avoid.

Beware! No Seagate warranty on this drive, which was not meant to be sold separately
I purchased this drive from the seller MELVYN-EU.When attempting to register this drive on the Seagate website, I was told that there was a problem with the warranty. When I spoke with a customer rep, I was told"If you hover your mouse on the red writing you will get the message that product was originally soldas a part of a larger system. Please contact the system manufacturer or your place of purchase for warranty support. In other terms, this drive was not meant to be sold as a separate stand alone internal enterprise disk but was removed from a larger system, (a server most likely) that was made by Dell, HP, IBM, etc, it was dismantled and then sold in pieces."Seagate drive are good, but do fail, and I have had to use warranty support on several drives in the past.Purchasing a drive, without full Seagate warranty support is an absolute no, no for me, and so this drive is going back.Attached are pictures of the chat with the Seagate rep.

Solicitado reembolso, y lógicamente debo esperar, aunque no me parezca correcto. No quiero cambio, quiero devolución.Estoy decepcionado y cabreado, olvidense de mi como cliente.Lo único que puedo desear es que mi pérdida sea la misma que la suya.No ha sido un placer.

Not guaranteed by Seagate
Okay let's get down to it. The supplier delivered the item super fast from the USA and at this moment in time is working flawlessly. Even though it's a 7200 the temps are good. Now Seagate have a first class reputation in the HD world but this product is not eligible for warranty under normal Seagate terms. If something should go wrong you need to return the drive to the original seller and that's not Seagate or Amazon. So it will need to be returned to the USA.I don't foresee a problem with the seller accepting any return provided of course they are still trading but if not then you are on your own with an expensive paperweight.Hopefully nothing will happen as I've had Seagate drives in the past with zero problems. But you should be aware of where you need to go in the unlikely event of a problem. The sellers though are very helpful but remember they are USA based - hence loss on one star for that.

2 x Seagate EXOS X16 16TB drives (ST16000NM001G) both dead on arrival.
Prompt delivery, so I was happy with that at least. However both drives proved to be dead on arrival. These drives are not covered under Seagate warranty in the UK and return is to NextGen Technology, Florida, USA, a point that was not clear to me when placing the order.I will not order from this outfit again and I suggest anyone else considers my experience very carefully before proceeding with a purchase.Update: I am happy to retract my previous comment and change my overall rating from 1* to 4*. The only reason I am not giving 5*s is that both drives were dead on arrival. Returning the faulty drives (to Florida) was actually quite straight forward - and pre-paid labels were provided and they were very responsive and helpful.

Buyer beware, it's an oem drive!
Beware! I bought the 6tb version specifically for the 5 year warranty, however despite the drive being sold and dispatched by Amazon themselves it's an oem drive! I'm unable to register it currently here in the UK. The warranty also started ticking 7 months ago!Am waiting a response from seagate as to honouring the warranty, if that's a no go then it will be going back.Edit 2/1/20 amending the star rating to three stars...... The email to seagate allowed me to then register the drive to my account with the warranty in place. However that did start ticking 6 months ago......... So depending on how old the amazon stock is you may be missing a bit of warranty.
