I like ION colors & give it a higher product rating overall. This color, however, came out MUCH darker than expected & way too red. This may have been due, in part, to my prior coloring with Clairol Natural Instincts Light Golden brown (semi). I found that shade turned my hair "gingery" (not gold, which I have not achieved yet) I have used other demi-permanent ION colors & find they typically run 1 shade darker. The ION coverage is professional looking & my coarse thick hair comes out better than before coloring. Their help line is attentive & they sent a gift card for corrector. So lean toward a lighter shade if you are not sure; you'll probably be glad.
