A good well rounded read
The Belly Fat Diet is an interesting and well-rounded book, perfect for those who are serious about losing belly fat and being healthy. The author, John Chatham, does a good job explaining fat and how to best tackle that issue in a safe and sensible manner. While it is a seemingly easy diet, as there is no weighing or portioning of food, it is emphasized that undertaking this diet requires a lifestyle change in order for it to be successful. Yet, Chatham makes it easier by providing a cookbook, shopping guide, and even basic exercise routines to encourage those who want to do it. Readers will appreciate the flexibility of the exercise routines, which can be easily done at home and without gym equipment. What is also nice about this book is that Chatham is in tune with reality. He understands that any diet is a challenge and includes allowances, such as one dessert a week, to keep the individual motivated.Overall, the book is clear in all its concepts and fast to read. It is a good place to start for those who want to make healthy changes in their life.

Great book that takes a practical, whole body approach
The Belly Fat Diet offers a refreshing take on dieting and losing weight. There are no calories to count, no starving yourself and no crazy amounts of exercise required. The Belly Fat Diet outlines a simple, sane approach that targets belly fat, which can be difficult to lose. What I really like about this book is that it takes a whole body approach and addresses eating, exercise, hormones and even the connection between stress and belly fat. This whole system approach really appealed to me as an engineer. You know when dealing with a complex system like the human body, you can't always change one thing and expect lasting results. You may need to make systematic changes in numerous areas for the best results. The Belly Fat Diet takes the whole body angle, and I like that. And the best part is the author keeps it simple. The Belly Fat Diet tells why starving yourself or doing extreme levels of exercise may actually work against you. This is something interesting that I have not read anywhere else before. Frankly, I always thought that a ton of exercise or eating nothing would work, but it won't and this book explains why.Hormones involved in belly fat are introduced and the author explains how they work for or against you. The diet and example meal plan are easy to follow. The exercise component is not something crazy, but rather something that a working person can fit into an already busy schedule (this really appealed to me).Overall, The Belly Fat Diet offers a sound, practical approach to losing belly fat that won't make you feel like you have to give up foods you like or devote every spare moment to exercise.

Realistic Plan to Banish Belly Fat!
Trendy diets come and go, but this book seems to offer a reasonable approach which isn't a get skinny quick plan, but sounds like a method that will bring more long-term, lasting healthier results that can be sustained over the course of time. As someone who has been interested in fitness and nutrition for as long as I can remember, this book presents less “fad” and more “education.” I like the voice in which this author writes and how he outlines health benefits, manages expectations in a realistic way, and generally and busting myths about such types of diets. I plan on trying out the plan and feel confident it will lead to successful results!

Requires a total shift of views - but it's great
I came to this book after 20 years of low-fat dieting. It is a complete departure from this. It lets you eat fat! My new best friend is a tub of organic peanut butter, yum yum. Really interesting book and brilliant at explaining the science in an understandle and digestable manner.

A better way to stay healthier and loose weight
My husband was told to change his diet as he had a fatty liver I found this book and followed it without cheating for 5 months he lost 2 and a half stone the consultant was amazed when he went back and his liver had returned to normal. It was hard work for him but we have taken it as a way of eating and not a diet. The great thing about it is that you do not have to weigh anything or count calories. We are both healthier and have more energy now we can have a treat every now and again and it does not do any damage.Like any change in eating it takes some getting use to, I have dieted for years loosing weight then putting it back on again because most diets do not change your way of thinking which this book does. Worth a try but do not blame the book if you do not follow the instructions.

Not exactly amazing.
For the price, it's quite a good read which at first changes your aspect of what you're eating and how it is affecting your body. But I think the actual diet is too much. If you have a busy schedule or you're on a tight budget it's not that easy to follow, and sometimes just too boring to follow!
