This is a great book for beginners. I love that it has all kinds of activities with great illustrations that helps the kids engaged while learning about spelling, sentence structure, etc. I specially like the activities that requires to unscramble words to form a sentence. It is great the book go through topics like: words in ABC order, beginning word sound, rhyme words, number words, pronouns, compound words, action words, questions formulation, opposites, etc.The book comes with stickers that keeps the child motivated to finish each activity. I would say that it's also great for SN students, but it will require an adult to model first the activity so the child knows what is the activity expected goal.

Loved using this workbook during the summer for practice. I'm confident that my child will go back to school ready for the school year.

Fun little book. My son loved the gold stars and completion chart included! Lots of unscrambling words and sentences. We used it as supplemental material for homeschool. We got through it in about a month.

I felt that it’s too easy for my first grader kid. So I gave it to my KG kid to work on it. My KG kid liked this book a lot especially the golden star stickers.

I bought this little book in the summer for my 6yr old who had just "graduated" kindergarten. I wanted her to keep up with her writing and reading of sight words during the summer. She had fun doing these workpages once a week. She especially loved the gold star stickers that were included because she got a star on her page after she completed it correctly. These activities were in line with what she learned in kindergarten so I was very pleased with that.

Recently purchased this book for my son who was having some trouble with his sounds & spelling. He needed more practice writing and I love that he likes this book. The incentives for gold stars is a nice touch as well. He seems to enjoy the workbook. Would definitely buy it again but a next level book to keep him going. Thanks so much for this.

My first-grade granddaughter was struggling with writing when school suddenly went virtual due to Covid-19. We've been doing this workbook together ever since and she absolutely loves it, which means she's tried harder with her writing. There's a nice variety of exercises, from phonics to sentence structure to simple crossword puzzles, and she'll happily do 5-6 pages at a sitting. She also loves putting the star stickers (that come with it) on each page she completes, as well as on the chart at the back of the book. She hasn't decided on a prize yet for when the chart is complete, but the stickers in themselves are a big motivator! My one disappoinment came when I went to order the second-grade writing/spelling workbook by this author to work on over the summer, and discovered there isn't one!

It is acceptable - I wish there were more of an emphasis on sentence writing - for penmanship (to help with spacing between words, sizing of letters etc) - or an emphasis on spelling. Its a good simple overview but i'd like to see my daughter be able to practice her writing or spelling skills more than what this book offers.

Lots of pages, lots of practice, good size for a 4/5 yo and a good price. Can be repetitive but children can find that useful.

Amazing product! This has helped my daughter with reading and writing for sure. It’s built up her self esteem and abilities immensely. I’m planning on keeping it so I can copy the style to help her French studies

Very good book for grade 1 kids..

My 5 year old enjoyed figuring out the questions and worked on them himself!

The number of exercises and variety worked so well in keeping my child motivated. The last page of the book has a table where kids can stick the gold stickers on the page completed . That too, worked very well. Excellent for review and emphasis and ultimately builds of reading and writing = confidence
