ViSee LVM-300 3.5 Inch Portable Video Magnifier Reading Aide for Low Vision With Stand

I normally use a Ruby handheld magnifier for my daily use, however, when I go out into the field, this unit is what I take (I can justify buying this again, not a $1,500 Ruby). This device fits nicely in my pocket and allows me to walk and move without feeling very bulky in my pocket. The image it displays is not the best, but will do the job. If you hold the device to far from the image, the screen will freeze until you get closer too the image you are trying to look at. It has two legs that hold the device off of the object you are looking at, but they do not lock in the open position, so they will collapse when moving the device. Not bad for the price though.

I took a chance and ordered this one after not liking the 4.3 " screen which was too bulky and too magnified. I am extremely happy with this one! I don't leave home without it. The 2X magnification works and so do being able to change to black background and white letters. However, in some cases like color menus, I have found it is better to leave it on the default color setting. It is about the same size as my smartphone. I tuck it itnto its case and use the wrist strap to carry it around since I use a small purse. I totally recommend this product for anyone with low vision. I have RP which has affected my central vision, making me legally blind. With this magnifier, I can read anything, especially those menus I couldn't read with a magnifying glass.

The product seemed good, but I have only had it 4 months and now it wont hold a charge. I tried to contact the seller through Amazon email but to date have received no response. Not happy with customer service experience. This is too expensive an item to only last a few months!

I am legally blind. Easy to use out of the box. Using adjustments for brightness, and contrast, I was able to read pill bottle instructions. It takes 1 second to focus. 3 seconds to adjust. 5 seconds to figure out. If you are reading a newspaper, you have time to move it, or else get a desktop tv reader. For the money unbeatable ! My Ruby is so much slower, and no better to read. I can shirt pocket this unit.
