too superficial
The articles in this book are too short and very superficial. I don't agree with what the editors designate as "mysteries"; some are, some aren't.

A sometimes interesting brief overview of 50 mysteries from the files of Life Magazine.
I have read quite a few books and magazines lately on so-called unsolved mysteries. This one (Life Magazine: The Greatest Unsolved Mysteries of all time-Paper magazine format edition 2014) was published originally in hardcover several years ago but this issue has all the same material that was in that hardcover edition. I have always been interested in unusual and mysterious stories and I found most of the stories in this issue interesting. I have read quite a few of these unsolved cases in other publications over the years so I was quite familiar with man of these stories. None of these mysteries are explored in great detail in this publication. In fact, only a brief overview of each of these mysteries are covered in this volume.Even though I have read all 50 of the mysteries in this publication, the following are some of my favorite stories. What is the Voynich Manuscript? How did Edgar Allan Poe die? Did Lizzie Borden whack her parents? Who was Jack the Ripper? Who was the Axman of New Orleans? Did Mallory and Irvine conquer Everest? An Agatha Christie mystery? Whither Amelia Earhart? What happened to the Nazi gold? Who murdered the Black Dahlia? Where is Jimmy Hoffa? Who was the zodiac? Where did the Boston paintings go? Just one more.If you are seeking an in depth treatment of these mysteries this publication may not be for you; however, if you are looking for some light reading that provides a brief overview of the topics you may want to check out this Life Magazine special issue.Rating: 4 Stars.
