Peanut Free
**Update: I reduced to three stars from five because I found another food that is peanut free and when I compared the two, I realized that there are lots of little pellets in this food that neither of our hamsters will eat. They leave them in the bowl. The other food has fewer pellets so there’s less waste. The hamsters came from different stores and live in separate enclosures so it’s interesting that neither will eat these.Hamsters like this food. It lasts a long time and has a nice variety. Peanut Free.

READ THE INGREDIENTS
Sunseed Sunsations is too low in protein for Hamsters (24% crude protein - this only has 15%) and slightly too high in moisture for Gerbils (10% - this has 12%). The variety is great, hence the 2-star review, but most of it is filler - wheat, corn, soy - which is fine for Gerbils, not for Hamsters. The ingredients show dehydrated potato which is TOXIC FOR GERBILS but safe for Hamsters. First ingredient is timothy meal which Hamsters can't have too much of as it's hard for them to digest. It also doesn't contain insects which Hamsters require.Overall, this food is poor with an okay variety. It's high in carbohydrates which is great for both species, but the ingredients aren't agreeable for either. If you purchase this food for temporary use, like when switching your pet to a new diet, that's fine. Just know it's not suitable for long-term use. Won’t eat pellets
I’ve had this feed for over a year now. My hamster has never eaten the pellets. He is healthy and loves every other item in the feed. Look out for raisins.
