Product exactly as expected. Used it once so far, worked perfectly.

These baskets are a great quality and size. There are other baskets that are slightly smaller out there and we made sure to get these ones for when we are baking multiple batches of bread.

I just used the proofing basket, for the first time, and had an issue. I have been making sourdough bread for a couple of weeks, and recently purchased this proofing basket, and a clothe.I prepared the dough, like I usually do, and after having let it rise on the counter for several hours, I placed it in the refrigerator, over night, and then let it rise on the counter again, the following day. One more deflating of the dough, and this time the dough was placed in my new "well floured" proofing basket.The dough rose again, and after several hours I was ready to place the dough into the clothe and bake it.The dough had risen all the way to the top of the proofing basket, and a little beyond.I had floured the inside of the proofing basket, liberally, and shook/spun the basket repeatedly in order to get a good coverage of the inside of the basket.When I was ready to place the dough onto the base of the clothe, I "flipped" the basket over, hoping that the dough would release easily from the basket. It did not.The issue was, that the very top coil of the basket was not able to retain enough of the flour, to prevent the dough from sticking to the basket, along part of the rim.Due to the adhesion of the dough, to the top of the basket, when I turned the basket over one side of the dough released, but one side did not release from the basket, due to the fact that it was stuck to the rim.I had to use my fingers to pull the dough away from the basket's riim, at which time the dough came out of the basket and onto the base of the clothe. It was quite an ugly blob of dough on the clothe, due to the face that about half of the dough's surface had been pulled loose and turned back on itself.I'm going to keep experimenting, but I need to find some way to prevent a reoccurance of this problem. Perhaps I should have purchased a larger proofing basket. Had the dough not risen as much as it did, and not have reached the rim of the basket, I'm pretty sure the entire proofed dough ball would have released nicely, with a nice floured and sculpted top. That's the look I was going for. Unfortunately, the finished product did not look anything like the image I was going for.I chose to "not" use the linen liner, as I wanted the look the basket's interior would produce.

I am getting more into bread baking and wanted to try a banneton. I ordered another brand and it was poorly made and had a strong odor. I returned it and ordered this one. This Banneton is so well made and on top of it, there is very easy instructions on how to use. The customer service of this company is outstanding. The scraper works very well! Super happy with this purchase!

I would rate the product as excellent, as the included banneton and accessories are pretty much standard and exactly what you would expect, with no defects. It is fairly sturdy, about as well made as you would expect one to be, and in my opinion is a good value for the price. I probably would not have written a review, but a person from Bread Bosses (the manufacturer) contacted me directly by email to follow up and ask how the product is going for me, for a review, and if there is any way they could help with the new product. I think that is fine customer service, and a I appreciate the follow up.So far, I have made one sourdough loaf in it (only received it about a week ago after a very short turnaround, supply, ship time). The included scraper is great and works very well. If I were going to suggest one thing, it would be for them to include a small, short manual to describe how best to use tha banneton. For example, rice flour works best to coat the banneton with, not regular flour, as the very sticky dough starts to form gluten bonds with normal wheat flour. This caused sticking that somewhat damaged the loaf, and I would have loved to have known that before having to look on the internet. It cleaned easily enough, for what that's worth. Also, they include a cloth with it that I had no idea what its use is. I looked it up on Youtube, and some bakers like to use this instead of the bottom of the banneton so that they can sketch custom shapes into the proofing loaf (which will be the top of the cooked loaf). Again, I would have had no idea had I not checked on Youtube. Perhaps this is common knowledge among bakers. I will also note that they seem to have good customer support that would answer such questions.I do not think this area for constructive criticism affects that quality of the item, however, which I found to be quite good, and met my expectations and needs very well.
