More info would be great
I would have liked more information. I feel like this book is maybe worth a few bucks. Although, it can be used as a list of things to research elsewhere, in order to learn more.

Great book, quick read!
I bought this book to supplement others in teaching my daughter Texas history in 4th grade (I homeschool). It was a great choice. The book briefly describes the Indians that lived in the different regions of the state, the explorers from different nations, settlers, battles for independence, republic, state, and industries that the state is known for (as well as other pertinent information). It was just what I was looking for.

My Favorite Book About Texas
This is an excellent overview of Texas history. I find the author does a decently balanced look from the arrival of Native Americans to modern day. It is factual and to the point although certainly far from all inclusive given that it is a child's picture book. Great illustrations to engage the very young yet an overview even engaging to an adult. I'd even had my middle schooler read it and he enjoyed it. As a person of Native Texas decent, I was glad to see that the history starts with the Native Americans and covers various aspects of their life and recognizes them as the first Texans. This is not just simply a Eurocentric look at the history of our amazing state. A read worth sharing with your child.

An Outstanding Introduction to Texas History
This is an extremely well written introduction to Texas history, and one that your children will embrace from the "get-go" as they say in Texas. I must say that the most impressive feature of this book is the illustration. Scott Arbuckle has done unbelievable work here - the detail will allow your children to look at the book again and again with the same level of fascination as the first time they view it.I highly recommend this book - it's a wonderful resource book for home schoolers as well.
