Umm, no.
This is absolute junk. It's made from the cheapest possible plastic, with a painted-on "metallic" finish.Functionally, it is still a fail?4K HDMI support? No.Modern SD card support (UHS-II U3)? Nope. I get 6MB/s throughput with my cards, which are capable of 150MB/s. Every photo takes 10 seconds.USB3.1 support? Try USB 2.0. Maybe. It won't power a simple hard drive and shows 480mbit speeds, not 5Gb or 10Gb.Tested with MacBook Pro 15" 2016 and 2016 Dell XPS-15I give it two stars because it does, technically, do something. Just not in any way what you want. Do not buy this.Beware sponsored reviews. If someone gets a product for free or for a reduced price, their opinion is not valid. Their reviews are always favorable because they are, at best, extraordinarily biased. Many are just outright fabrication. I usually check, but this time I was in a hurry and got burned. These carreer product reviewers do have to state in their review that they are being paid in the form of free stuff. Downvote them. They are scamming you.

UPDATE: still doesn't work. Not worth the cost of the product.
1st time (and only time use before update) - Works for what I need it for so far. Haven't used all the ports but the USB port works just fine. The stability/construction concerns me a bit because it doesn't seem secure/sturdy while plugged into the USB-C port on my MacBook Pro. It's as if it could easily snap off.UPDATE: a bit over 1 month of use and the product no longer works as it should. None of the ports work. My new MacBook Pro doesn't even recognize that the USB-C is plugged in at all. Also, I noticed that the picture of the product has changed from the sleek design I have/ordered to what's currently displayed. If I could get e refund or sort something out with the seller then I'd be happy to update my review again. Just really dislike spending money on products that work only once or sometimes but will give the seller a chance to make it right.

USB C Hub from MassData for Macbook
USB C Hub from MassData for Macbook is handy and works well. Only problem I encountered was I have a thin clear plastic shell case on my Macbook. The USB-C hub has a standard length USB-C plug. My shell case prevents the plug from seating completely. I have to be careful that I don't touch the hub or it will disconnect. Otherwise it's a big improvement over Apple's bonehead decision to have one USB-C port on the new Macbooks.

Okay but needs redesign...
Its okay, but not very sturdy. Feels like it will break off if any pressure is placed on it. Usb ports are too close together so if you have wide thumbdrives the will not be able to plug them in at the same time.

DO NOT BUY THIS.
This thing does not work. It worked for about a day and it was always loose and it never stays in. it falls out and even when i'm holding it in place with my hand and the light is on, it doesn't connect to my computer (nothing- not my iPhone via usb, a scan disk, AND it doesn't charge the computer like it advertised . When i bought it, it was $40. HUGE waste of money. Doesn't do anything.

Looks good but buyer beware!
The product seemed impressive upon receipt with its minimalist design. However this device seems to be poorly made. After a few hours of use I noticed the device started to overheat so much that it warped the plastic encasing. I began to also notice the smell of burning electronics. I quickly decided to return the device and receive a full refund. I cannot trust such device with such an expensive laptop.
