Yes that’s right. Put a pinch of the powder in a fire safe bowl and light it. It will produce a decent amount of smoke so we suggest starting with a small amount.

I would not think you could use the brass burner. This product is a bit more course. It's more for making cones or sticks.

Is this just the wood or does it have essential oil in it? I just purchased some and it smells a lot like palo santo oil.

This product contains pure ground Palo Santo wood. There is no added essential oil.

You can use any type of heat resistant plate or bowl to burn the powder. The powder does burn quickly since it is a loose wood powder. You can try compressing the wood tightly to get a slower burn.
