A cute, modern version of Garfield
I recommend the Fat Cat 3-Pack (Volume 1) over this, it’s only a few dollars and a way bigger bang for your buck in the original Garfield style. That said, this smaller book uses the modern Garfield in a modern world. He isn’t as chubby, there is technology in some the comics that couldn’t have been written about 20+ years ago so that might stand out. In all, I’d rather just stick with older Garfield comics when the humor peaked but this was a nice little read.

Funny and Warm Hearted, Better Than Ever!
I loved these books as a kid and have purchased the first ten or so to read with my own kids now. I just bought this most recent book and loved it. Jim Davis has wonderfully updated the cartoon while keeping it true to its original feel. I was laughing and smiling and loved it. Well done!!

Review of the book
The book was fine as usual, but the jokes (In my opinion) were not as good as the older book ones, forcing me to rate it a four, otherwise, I recommend you read the older ones then if you want better jokes, and if you want the ones with better pictures, read the newer ones.

Really funny book
A must-have for any Garfield fan. I currently have the previous 71 Garfield books, with #1-36 being the older black & white version of these comic strip books.

Love the fat cat, hate the price.
Another winning collection of cartoons (can I say "cattoons" to coin a phrase?) by Jim Davis and company. I've been reading and collecting them since at least 1980, living through his black and white then colour phase. About the only disappointing things are the price (why does it keep creeping up??), the amount of content (his earlier collections seemed bigger), the fact that they usually miss or skip the first frame of the Sunday strip (why?), the humour is not as sharp as it used to be (we read Garfield to indulge our cynical, in-your-face, anti-social convention side, not the touchy-feely one), and that he's a bit less cat-like and more kid-like (I know he's basically a human in a cat suit, but let's not forget the cat part entirely). It's still a pretty good book, mind you, but I've had better laughs for my buck in earlier editions. And since I'm shelling out real money for this book, instead of just printing the ones I can get from the web, I expect something more, but I feel I'm constantly getting less.Time to step up for the fans, me thinks. I still love Garfield, but the only one getting more cynical seems to be me, while my wallet gets thinner.3.5 stars, rounded down to 3.

Extrem langweilig
Mein erster Garfield Comic, bei dem ich nicht einmal lächeln konnte. Absolut witzlos, definitiv keine Kaufempfehlung.
