In an XL this shirt fits about the same as a La Leela Hawaiian shirt. The largest they had in stock at the time of purchase was XL, which isn't as voluminous on me as I'd like, but the La Leelas behave the same way. I usually get XXL in Hawaiian shirts to get a little more room, but they didn't have this shirt available in XXL. When they say measure from armpit to armpit to get your size, do it on an airy shirt from your closet. My actual armpit to armpit size across my chest is only 20 inches or so, but my usual Hawaiian shirt size is about 43-45 inches measured in this way, which makes the sizing chart they provide to the left of the shirt picture very strange to use. If I had used my actual measurements, I would have had to order the small, which I knew had to be wrong, so use an actual shirt to measure. My normal shirt size is XXL for all my western and cotton shirts, just to give you an idea of what the sizing is like on these. Obviously at XL, the sizing is somewhat generous, or else, I couldn't wear it. The material is a lot like terivoil, which is a specially woven nylon that La Leela makes their beautifully silky shirts from, and the colors in it are as good as I could have hoped for with the reds, greens, yellows, blues, it will match just about any swimsuit color you have. The length comes down to about mid-placket on your fly, so there would be a bit of reveal of your swimsuit, so it you count on a Hawaiian shirt to cover you there, this shirt may not be for you. Though it seems to be made from scraps, the shirt's build quality is very nice with tangerine-colored buttons that are about the same size and thickness as found on La Leela shirts and the collar lays correctly. I keep going back to La Leela for comparisons because this shirt most closely resembles them and La Leela brand shirts are excellent for their breathable, color-fast fabric with excellent cuts, fit and finish along with marvelous patterns. This shirt resembles that build quality and cut quite nicely, though I think La Leela shirts are an inch or two longer. I was complimented for wearing this shirt to work one day, so it's a head turner. At this price, I don't think you can go wrong.

It fits perfectly. Nice and airy fabric. The print is very vibrant and not dull.

These are great but no matter how much you wash them the creases don't go away from shipping. Kids love them and the bright colors

Research indicated shirt was slightly undersized, and that proved to be true but since I ordered a large that was not a problem. Colors are bright and bold and well balanced. it's also very black light reactive. Makes quite an impression in the club. Wash in cold and hang to dry. Very pleased.

I wanted to have a Hawaiian shirt that was fitted to me for my cruise night on my cruise ship. I am 5 foot eight approximately 160 pounds and I purchased the shirt because I wanted to have a nice quality fitted shirt to look fashionable at dinner on Hawaiian night. This shirt did its job. Not only is it an awesome looking blue-collar, but it was very fitted to me and tight. I normally wear a size medium however, I purchased a size small so that it was extra tight and I could show off my muscles with it. My girlfriend really liked the shirt as well along with others.

I have purchased at least one of every color of the V.H.O. Funky Hawaiian Men Front Pocket Button Down front shortsleeve men's shirts. Up until now my husband loves them. They do not shrink, are very soft, do not fade and dry quickly on the clothesline. Only issue is that now that we've had them awhile (less than a year) buttons have started to pop off either while wearing or when washed. I found one in the washer and another button under the clothesline. I now have a dark blue and dark green shirts that cannot be worn because of the lost button issues. I have contacted Amazon after Googling failed to see if Amazon could help me contact the V.H.O. manufacturer to acquire the same color thread and buttons from VHO to NO avail. Most shirts have spare buttons sewed into them on the bottom inside of the shirt but not these.So if you purchase a shirt. First thing is to sure up the buttons so you don't go through what I am going through. I now have to cut all the buttons off and try and find the correct size to fit buttonholes . Buttons in a shade of the shirt and sew on all new buttons all because I cannot get hold of manufacturer. If they can't or won't see them to me they could tell me whom they buy their buttons and thread from so I could go directly to the source and acquire the same color button and thread to solve my issue.Can you tell I am a bit miffed?!Good Luck

I received my shirt today. The look, construction, and feel are better than what I anticipated. But, I’m sure glad I read the reviews about shirt sizes running small. I normally wear an extra large. For this shirt, I ordered a 3X. The 3X is slightly larger than what I would normally wear. It fits well and the shoulders. I’m afraid if I had ordered a 2X it would have been too small. Shirt is in the wash now. Looking forward to wearing it.
