Fast serum and plasma separation The PlasmaPrep 12 is a high-speed bench top centrifuge designed to rapidly separate blood in original evacuated collection tubes. It puts fast blood separation at your fingertips greatly reducing turn-around time. PlasmaPrep 12 provides platelet-poor-plasma in two minutes compared with traditional methods that take 10-15 minutes. It also provides platelet-rich-plasma and simple plasma separations in only 30 seconds. PlasmaPrep is perfect for coagulation studies. By installing the centrifuge near the blood analyzer, a lab can process the samples as they arrive elimating the need to wait for batches of tubes to be collected before executing a spin cycle. To help ensure safety, the centrifuge is equipped with an automatic lid lock, which prevents it from being opened while the rotor is in motion. A gasket seal is mounted in the lid to minimize possible aerosol exposure. Disposable tube holders provide another safety enhancement. In the event of tube breakage during centrifugation, the operator can discard both the tube holder and the tube safely without making contact with the blood specimen and without cleaning the centrifuge bowl or rotor.
