We ordered and received the 40 inch pad to use on our deck under our new Solo Bonfire stove. It is wonderful! It’s plenty large enough to catch any tiny embers that pop out, and it stayed completely cool the whole time we used our stove! The carrying case will come in handy when we take it camping this summer. Thank you for making a great product - well worth the money!

Item works well per directions and does the job of the protection of basic underneath surface the Solo firepit is on. Definitely needs Solo pedistal to operate safely/correctly per directions. Item is made of great durable materials and provides decend coverage.

I’ve now used this a few times with my solo stove and it works great. Heat does not penetrate through the mat. I’ve used this on concrete and on grass and there have been zero discoloration or burns on the ground. I do wish the underside was better reinforced. I had some buddies relocate my firepit using the mat which caused a couple rippes. It still works perfect and I plan to buy another one just in case.

This is a very nice firepit mat and is insulated. I would buy this again. I ordered a cheaper one first (different brand) and sent it back as it was just a thin sheet of material. This one is much better

I was a bit skeptical regarding this product, but after reading the reviews, I decided to give it a try. After burning a fire for approximately two hours with the mat underneath my fire pit, there was no evidence of grass burning under the fire pit. The mat itself was never hot to the touch either. The outdoor temp was in the 40s and my fire pit is 10 inches from the bottom to the ground. The directions on the back of the box indicate that there should be at least 5 inches of space between the fire mat and the heat source however, the instructions that come with the product inside the box state 4 inches. It didn’t matter for my situation, and I’m very happy with this product.

Fire pit must have legs that raise the bottom of the fire bowl at least 4” off of the ground or a be used with a fire pit/ring which is vented (like a solo stove). I have a fire pit with legs that lift the bowl about 5” off the ground at its lowest point. The fire pit was placed on 73 degree F ground as measured with an infrared thermometer WITHOUT the protector and, within minutes of starting a fire, the ground continually increased in temperature until it neared 200 degrees F. I did not let it continue to get hotter before I moved the fire pit onto the fire protection pad on an adjacent surface of the exact same material and burned wood in it for 3 hours…the surface underneath - directly underneath the lowest and hottest point of the fire/coals (well over 1000 degrees F) - never exceeded 75 degrees F…Bottom line…this thing works stupendously! Highly recommended.

I was looking for something that could protect my rug from our Chimnea and this works! It also has a cute design that looks sooooo much better than the plain silver ones we used in the past. We had some large sparks land and very little to no damage occurred. Overall I would recommend it!

The mat is exactly what I was looking for to protect the deck from heat from our open fire place as well as from sparks.
