Novel, but flimsy
I had my eye on the Modulr for a long time. I live the idea of having the nubs on the back to be able to attach things like the hand strap and shoulder strap... and for that a give them an A.But if you're looking for protection, and I mean ANY protection at all, look elsewhere. First the plastic is very flimsy. I felt like I was putting an old plastic car model together... you know, with the little pieces that were meant to snap apart? Except this is not meant to snap apart.I got the case on the iPad, and then got to testing it out. Unfortunately the hand strap was not strapped down completely and the ipad slipped out of my hand an on to the floor. Now, mind you I was sitting, and was about 2 feet from the ground, a distance at which I've dropped the ipad before (once) and not had a single problem. I picked the ipad up to find 3 large cracks across the screen.Needless to say, if you chose to use this cover, do so at your own risk. It is NOT meant for anything more than convenience.

It works exactly how I need it to
I wanted to be able to hold my iPad without a clunky old school looking portfolio case and I didn't want to turn it into a laptop. I wanted to hold it in my hand and use it on the go and that's exactly what I got!The polycarbonate case fits perfectly. I don't plan on drop testing the strength of it but if it's anywhere near the quality of my eye glass lenses then I feel confident it will protect the edges and back.I like too that the Apple iPad Smart Cover can be used but not for standing it up on it's long edge since the tabs for the hand strap on the case don't allow it to angle back enough to stand freely.Overall: It works exactly how I need it to.

Works better if modified to support diagonal strap position
Well-constructed, solid attachment of plastic shell to iPad case provides protection of back and secure mounting of strap while allowing use of smart cover. But I wanted to mount the strap diagonally (similar to "Padlette" product link), and the short length of velcro loop material doesn't allow this. I remedied by purchasing sticky-back 3/4 x 3-1/2 inch black velcro loop material and fastening it to the strap, providing sufficient extension of the strap length to fasten it diagonally. Due to proximity of the strap fastening post near the camera lens, the diagonal positioning works in only one direction to avoid obscuring the lens. Padlette in Gray

The modulR case is by far the best case available for the iPad2. I rate it 9.9 out of 10. I would give it a 10 but the camera connection kit for the iPad does not fit when this case is on. I've contacted modulR and they said that they are aware of the problem and plan to address it in upcoming models. Other than that, this thing is awesome. Using this case with the smart cover provides total protection front and back. The hand strap allows you to confidently carry the iPad without the constant fear of dropping it.

Frustrating
The stupid handle does not stay on, the plastic is slippery, so on top of not being ale to grip it with the handle, when it does slip off you can't grab it! Arghhhh hated this thing! Got me a griffin one that is super grippy with an unremovable thick elastic strap......way better!

Awful packaging
In this day of pressure treated labels, I should not have to have spent over 30 minutes removing the instruction label from back of case. Now the case looks very bad and unless i use nail polish remover, it will just be gross. I am tempted to be done with it and return.

Great until it dropped the iPad on my head
My husband had this case for a year or so and really liked it. Our 9 year old often preferred using my husband's iPad to mine thanks to this strap that kept it on his little hand. We even ordered a second case a month ago for me. But this morning, while my husband was reading off the iPad in bed, holding it aloft, one of the connectors to the strap broke suddenly and the corner of the iPad careened into my forehead. That's how I woke up this morning.So I think this product is great in so many ways but ultimately it is a $40 piece of molded plastic with connectors allowing you to attach things. It isn't any better than any other piece of plastic if those connectors fail or become brittle after only a year of use.
