Actually well build inside and out
I took this guy apart thinking its just BS marketing and basic hub on the inside, I was completely wrong!its has very well designed power supply ( I'm suppling 24vDC to it) its got LARGE power filters and signal noise reduces. I use it on my 3d printers that generates a lot of electrical noise from the 24v mosfet controlled heater and 110V 700w also mosfet controlled that have USB CAN buss traveling next to them , this was a great pick, definitely recommend for industrial use.

Very low power output on all ports when connected to 14vdc car power
Bought this specifically to connect to aftermarket car stereo head unit which doesn't provide much power to the USB port. The head unit isn't capable of charging my phone while using it for android auto. I figured a powered hub would be the solution, but this one doesn't help. Any phone I connect says "charging slowly" just like when it's connected directly to the head unit. Yes, the data connects ok, but the only reason i bought this hub was to provide more power to the phone, and this doesn't do it. I even tried exchanging for another, thinking i just got a bad one, but the replacement had the same problem.

Great powered hub for long USB runs
Used for a ~100ft USB 2.0 run (USB over Cat5/6 adapter) so I can relocate my SteelSeries headset base to be centrally located in my house. Short runs are okay but it needs a powered hub on the end for longer runs. This thing is quality stuff, using a 12v power supply I had lying around (it takes 9-36v in the 3-Wire DC Terminal Block). Used the included ears to mount it.

Solid as a rock
This port is used in a high RF environment and has been rock solid. Highly recommended.

I purchased this for a non-standard use, adding powered USB data ports to a car head unit.It worked perfectly for this!

Using this in public safety vehicles after my organization went ...
Using this in public safety vehicles after my organization went though three other cheapo consumer (well one was still ~$30 ea) devices. So far these are holding up very well in a hot/cold vehicle with tons of vibration. Should have done this in the first place, we now have about 50 installed and have had zero failures with service time between 6 mo and a year.
