Does the job intended.Pros:-Works-Reads temp in under 5 seconds.-Handy chart on it to remember min meat temps for food safety.-Build quality seems good.-Super easy to keep clean.Cons:-Not truely 'instant'...four seconds or less yes, which is ok but don't call it instant...4 seconds of hand over a hot grill is hot! One star off.Improvements:-Would like a small indent just big enough for finger to get probe out more easily.-Would like back-lit screen option for late evening cooking...dark in winter just after 5 r 6pm here!-Would buy again though if needed one.

"I purchased this item as a gift for a friend.The unit arrived a day earlier than estimated, well packaged, it has a good feel in your hand, clear easy to read display that was very fast at displaying accurate temperature, the probe is spring loaded that folds out to the extended position which activates the unit to the on position and turns it off when closed. I will have to order one for myself, very nice unit. " I also compete in pro competition BBQ and see a lot of higher dollar units being used, ( NOTE :: i have one, wish i had found this one first ) I do not think the competitors price is worth it as this unit has all the features you could want at a very affordable price.

I like the dig thermometer, however pulling the probe away from the case is a bit difficult , it snaps into the plastic and is hard to open..Also if you're cleaning the probe by wiping toward the tip, it very easily pulls out of the plastic exposing the wires, maybe a little gorilla glue? Seems like a good tool for the money. I will make modifications to suit me, Thanks

Best thermometer i have had and I have baught about eight.Did test in ice water and boiling water was in about 1 degree fahrenheit.THe only one I have with better accuacy in an Akins pro and it is about $165.00The best improvement they could do is to make it water proof.

The Thermometer was great at first - but it's less than two years from purchase and it completely stopped working. This isn't something that gets used everyday, so there is not reason why this should work less than 2 years later. Everything was cleaned and changed and the company has not e-mailed me back about this. I'm very disappointed.

This is a very accurate and simple to use tool for cooking. Not only does it have a convenient "flip out" mechanism (protecting the pointy end from poking you when not in use) but it is very fast and easy to read. Also, like any machine, there is the chance it might just stop working at some point. Mine did (just a random thing) and the Marshcone team were very quick to send me a coupon to replace the unit. They were super easy to work with and very pleasant. Highly recommend their product and Happy Cooking!

This little device works great. I had been using another thermometer that had a cord that kept breaking - and me ordering a new cable. I got frustrated with that old device after that happened twice and ordered this guy. This is also much quicker than an analog device that takes... some time to calculate. In short I appreciate its speediness and fewer moving parts

Am very pleased with this thermometer. It truly is instant read - very fast. The probe is easy to engage, simple to clean and slide back into its slot for compact storage. Love that it turns off automatically saving the battery. Good price point. Not sure how one gauges temperature accuracy. I tested against my old "leave-in" digital meat thermometer. They were within a degree or two of each other. Without knowing if my old unit is even accurate, will assume both are within reasonable limits and feel comfortable with the reading.
