Brake Lock, Z-CON Brake Lock CLutch Lock Anti Theft Pure Steel Car Lock for the Brake Rod Width 5mm - 15mm of All Automobiles - Midnight Black

This is my second review, the first one (three stars) was removed. After four years of use in Honda CR-V, I don't have any attempt to stolen my car, anyway, I always use it, even when parking at home. Tonight after taking my dougthers to dance, the lock get stuck, I tried to unlocked with no success, then I bought a manual saw and I was able to cut one leg in 10 minutes, I did not removed it but was enough to release the brake pedal and drive back home. I was happy and disappointed about how easy was to disengage and run my car.

One of the reviews I read mentioned that a thief would only need to bang the bottom of the brake lock upward from the floor side to disable. Not true! It really depends on the vehicle. Smaller & mid size vehicles are probably Ok. I have a new Mustang, the base of the brake lock positions right under the steering column thus preventing any upward movement. The only change I would like to see is a bright color on the lock. Being black you really cannot see it at nighttime. I believe it to be more of a deterrent if it were visual before a thief broke into your car. I mounted an LED strip under the dash with an on/off switch as a remedy. I think my car is now much more secure versus an alarm system. I certainly recommend this lock!

This BARELY fit around the brake pedal of a sedan, but would NOT fit on an old pickup. Small cars with lower pedal to floor clearance would probably be best. Measure carefully. I have a another device to lock up the clutch, but this feels more robust and tighter fitting. The main drawback is that the very bottom "hook" does not start the range of motion from the floor, it sits a few inches above the floor which causes some loss of range when trying to install. I could not get the device handle to turn and "hook" on a truck pedal as the clearances were incompatible. It did work on a car. In summary, very small range of fit as the hook sits a few inches above the floor. However, the smaller range of motion does provide for a tighter fitting device that a burglar won't likely be able to jiggle loose!

I have 01 Nissan Frontier...This V15 works - HOWEVER It's a pain in the butt to release. I am a small person like 5'6". Locking it was easy. But when I try to unlock it from a sitting position - I couldn't.I had to open driver side door to get down and get a better view to remove it from the brake pedal.The brake pedal design on my 2001 Frontier is not a straight line - the V35 version looked like it could fit (brake pedal has an angle) - but the width of my brake pedal was for V15 version. But then again maybe if I would have bought V35 version - it would have fit IN-n-OUT normally? Who knows.I will ONLY use this if I am traveling like going to Vegas or places REALLY far from home.

Doesn’t work like they say. It is just used to scare the theif. Bought it for my 1971 pick up truck. Didn’t work like it said. You can just pivot the device and still stop the vehicle. Tried it on my Range Rover, didn’t work. Tried it on my Honda Fit, worked a little, but it will come to a slow stop.

I really depend on on the z con brake to keep me out of trouble. I use it on both pedals at the same time of my ford explorer which had been stolen twice.If they do get in again, they will go NO WHERE! I have to put it on from an angle outside of the car but it completely screws up any attempt to drive.It takes one second to put it on and less time to take it off with the key. This is a wonderful product.

This device provides excellent protection for our RAV4. I highly recommend it. The only problem is the instructions that come with the device. The maker should really find someone who actually speaks English to rewrite them because they are virtually unintelligible as they are now. I actually had to figure out how to use the device on my own. The instructions -- on the box, in the box, and on the web -- were useless.
