Great to use with SRAM Road shifters for extra gravel bike capability
Great derailleur for use with SRAM Road shifters and a large capacity cassette. I’m using this on my Trek Crockett with an 11-40 cassette. I have this connected to SRAM Rival hydraulic disc shifters, and it works well in this setup. I did not need to replace the B screw to have it work with this setup. Happy overall that it gives me more options with my gravel bike.

Works, compatible with 10S road/mountain and 11S road needing Exact Actuation
Feels like a stronger spring compared to old 7-8-9 speed rear derailleurs to get the compression for the 10th cog. (Hmm...retrofit spring on old "1:1" rear?)~1.3 shift ratio matches 3.1 mm cable pull on "Exact Actuation" components but "X-Actuation" or "1:1".Shifts feels same as older newer end models, except slightly heavier. (Not so with the shifter).

Reliable!!!
I bought this derailleur for my son's mountain bike build. I have been running the X5 on my GT Sensor Comp for the past 3 years with no problems at all. It shifts reliably, and I have never had any issues whatsoever. Why wouldn't I choose it???

Original component replacement
Economical derailleur for medium trail use. Restored shifting for Trek Cobia. Simple install. Came early; new product in SRAM packaging. Identical with original component. Prone to getting damaged by sticks and rocks, but that comes with the long-cage design. Fairly durable.

Better for Roadbikes than MTB — No Clutch
I like the long cage length for converting my bike to a 1x10 setup, but I was really missing the clutch mechanism and experienced a coupleof dropped chains so I robbed the guide wheels off this new derailleur and got my old clutched derailleur running again instead. I’d only buy this derailleur without a clutch mechanism for a road bike.

Great price, long lasting derailleur
I have a 2012 Kona Hei Hei 29er that has this on it since 2012. I just changed it beginning of 2019, so 7 years later and I spent less than $100 on a new derailleur. I think that says something, and I also ride at least 100+ miles a month. This is a very reliable and worth buying derailleur.

Solid Budget Piece
Replaced a GX that i snapped on the trail. Not as instant and smooth as the GX but has been fine. Took three pretty hard falls on it, this last time did seem to damage it as i put a new hangar on and shifting is still not as good as it was in the past no matter how hard i try to tune it, at this point it does need replacing. Solid budget product.

Other than that with no other option for replacing my x-7 3x10 without spending hundreds of dollars this was a great fix and has been running smooth for miles now
Wish they had a lock option to lock the derailleur back. Other than that with no other option for replacing my x-7 3x10 without spending hundreds of dollars this was a great fix and has been running smooth for miles now.

Works 2nd time around
Had to be replaced as the first one broke while fitting. May have just been a faulty unit though
