Great experience.

If you enjoy baking but dislike cleanings afterward, this mat is a "must have". You'll notice from my attached pics that I also have the exact same size mat in the sell-known brand name Silpat, made in France. So, since I have both, let's do a side-by-side comparison.Clearly this is a Silpat knock-off, but if it works the same way, who cares? The first thing you'll notice is that the mat itself is a cleaner white woven fiber, encased in a silicone mat. The Silpat has a dingy yellowish appearance, and honestly, I prefer the clean white look of this mat. The edge is the typical rust orange border, very similar, but a slightly different shade than the Silpat. One big point I'd like to make.. The product images show this mat to have the same dog-eared corners as the Silpat. In reality, though, the corners are intact, not dog-eared. I suspect they had perhaps gotten a bit too close to patent infringement so had to change the corners to differentiate this Hazlewood mat from the original. What difference does this make? Since the typical baking sheet has slightly rounded corners, this mat may not sit totally flat near the corners. For those baking afficianados out there, you may not be happy with this. For me, no problem.If I put blindfolds on and handled each of these mats, I would not be able to guess which is which. For baking, this mat works beautifully. Non-stick, cleans easily, keeps my pans in pristine condition, what's not to like? The Silpat was made in France. This mat was made.... okay, so I don't know. Does it matter if it isn't French? Let's get down to the details... This mat is under 10 bucks on Amazon right now. The Silpat is around $25. Hmmmm... Yep, a great deal!
