We modified the nub that was a safety feature that made it too hard to close. We use a clip to put through the buckle that secures the latches and then when we open the latches we put the clips on the ignition key to remind us to latch all before we drive. Also we shortened the screw shaft on a couple on the front of my camper roof since it sat lower and needed more clearance. Still giving 5 stars. I’ll see how they hold up in the elements. May spray them with some lubricant/metal protectant just to keep them looking shiny.

This was the type of latch I was looking for and being stainless steel was a plus .

Overall, these things are awesome! They have a cool laser etched logo and a nice stainless finish. They're are more burly than the original ones for sure. I will say that the little dimple they add as a sort of safety to keep the latch closed is pretty annoying. It makes it very difficult to open and close them so I just ground that little nub off which made them much better! I was also bummed that the fasteners were little zinc plated screws and not stainless, too. But, those two downsides are pretty minor over all. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is that I had to modify the little nub to make them functional. I would certainly recommend these for anyone looking to upgrade or replace their rusty old stamped steel camper latches.

Absolutely perfect drop in replacement for the old rusty latches on my '93 Jayco Eagle 8 popup tent trailer. Couldn't be an easier install. Really nice to be able to find this hardware being readily available after all these years for super reasonable prices. Thank goodness some wholesome things like keeping your low end camper rolling is still very doable. Just get 'em!
