Needs better instructions, easy to install with YouTube
Works as shown. Not clear instructions but it shows which wire is which, easy mounting but you do need zipties for the speaker in the engine bay to mount it but it's easy. Wiring was no issue at all, only issue you'll have is getting through the fire wall if ur a beginner, wiring is very basic, you'll need a razer and electrical tape for splicing. 10/10 but needs more instructions. YouTube helps. Speaker is pretty heavy for the small size but it's loud and the intercome is clear but you have to speak up for the microphone to hear you, it's made really well and durable

Very good siren for the price
I was a little skeptical for the $100 price for the unit. But I am very impressed so far, the control box some people say is a little big but the way the switch gear is set up I understand it. The knob for the volume and the switches are awesome. Very solid clicks when changing siren tones or to the PA. As well as for turning the volume on or off. The text on the box are green back lit so in the dark you know what setting you are on. I have mine mounted just behind the driver's door to the frame rail of the truck (2022 F250) with the speaker pointed at the ground and it is very loud as you can probably tell from the video. The control box I 3M taped it with double sided tape and attached the mic to the box itself (I didn't want to drill into the center console if I could avoid it) It is very sturdy from bouncing around the last few days it hasnt moved at all. Then ran the wires under the driver's seat and the rear floor mat to the rear seat tool box. I drilled a small hole through a pass through in the tool box under the rear seat. Ford apparently designed that for just this application to get wiring under the truck. Then drilled some pilot holes and used self tappers to mount the bracket. The speaker attaches to the bracket with 2 14mm bolts with various washers provided. Power I connected the red/black wires to a 12v cigarette lighter adapter that had bare ends to connect the wires to. In total with various tools and wire loom, electrical tape, connectors etc. You'd be in for about $150-175. As well as I made it to where no matter what truck I get in the future I can unbolt it easily and transfer it to the next vehicle. 2-3 hour weekend project but very happy with the results. I'll update as time goes on to see how the unit holds up Update 5/3/25 Switched to a 2024 F250 and the siren still held strong even through the Illinois winter. Sprayed some metal protector (Fluid Film $8) on the speaker to prevent it from rusting. Not a spec anywhere other than the mounting bolts I used. My old man got tired of the main box getting in the way of his leg since it sits in line with the seat. So I retired it for another siren that has all the buttons on the PA mic. But I am going to miss it for the ruggedness. Anytime I needed it it always worked as long as the cigarette lighter adapter didn't come unplugged lol. Solid product for the price, no complaints

Great Speaker
Very loud and wiring was way easier than it looked and the aux switches are great for my light bars and podlight, great value and durable

Sturdy, works well, toyish siren tones, great horn, PA and loudspeaker work great.
OVERALL The control box seems to be larger than it needs to be, causing a mounting issue. I was able to find a place, but not where I initially had hoped to mount the unit. Buttons, switches, and knobs seem very sturdy. Wiring is great - easy to hook up if you have a little experience with automotive electrical systems. The backlit selected Mode titles are a plus, but not having any other functions/switches backlit is a bit of a bummer, especially with how small the volume indicator is on the knob. HORN The Horn is why I bought the unit. Lamphus includes an optional jumper wire that you can connect to your vehicle's horn circuit so that pressing your vehicle's horn button engages the Lamphus Horn, which can be quite loud. It's a bit of an electric air horn sound, like some of the Police cruisers use. When the control box is turned off, the Horn feature will not work, and when the unit is turned on, the volume knob controls the volume of the Horn, whether using the jumpers or pressing the momentary manual switch on the unit. SIREN I disabled the siren functions because I don't want or need them. I did try it all out during bench testing of course and found the sirens to be toyish. The tones go too high and for too long - they just don't sound like any emergency vehicle sirens. Fine with me - I didn't want them. I disconnected the brown wire behind the momentary on/off/momentary on switch so that now only the Horn function works and not the momentary Siren. Also, I put a screw directly into the face of the device next to the Mode selection knob in such a way that only the Radio and Standby modes can be selected. PA The PA works brilliantly. The volume control which also turns the unit on, controls the volume of the PA as well as the volume of the horn and siren. The microphone unfortunately is permanently attached to the device not allowing for easy replacement or disconnecting for any reason. But the handheld mic seems sturdy, the switch works fine, and the microphone seems to pick up well. There is a very brief delay once the PTT button is pressed until it transmits. RADIO Mode There are two white wires which can be used optionally. They can be hooked up to any device's audio output such as a CB radio, Ham/amateur radio, or iPod, etc and broadcast over the loudspeaker. The volume is controlled solely by the external device (ie: CB, Ham, iPod), and not by the Lamphus' system volume. When Radio mode is selected, any signal input into the white wires will be broadcast at the device's volume level regardless of Lamphus volume level. The Horn and Siren switch can be used and the PA can be used during operation in this mode and it will momentarily cancel the input signal. CONTROL 1 and 2 These are two basic switches. You can run a light bar or any other 12 volt device using the supplied wires running from the main harness. LOUDSPEAKER The speaker seems very sturdy and the low profile allows for many mounting locations. I mounted mine between the grill and radiator so that it faces forward but is hard to see from the front of the vehicle. A typical cone shaped speaker would have had to be mounted in the engine compartment or somewhere under the front bumper.

Good system with FIXED microphone cord
Easy to set up with Included instructions. Offers auxiliary inputs for radios, scanners, etc. Speaker seems to be of good quality and has a nice LOUD variable volume. I would purchase this again, but next time get the unit with a detachable microphone since this one is fixed. Includes necessary hardware for mounting under dash, but mine is going under the seat. Take your time and make a clean install. Remember this unit has a FIXED microphone cord so it always stays attached. Good value. I like it.

Honk!
This is a serious PA system. I dont have prior experience to compare it to, but the speaker itself is very heavy-duty and the instructions assume you know how to do automotive mounting and wiring. I knew nothing going into this project and it took me all day to install on my own with google/youtube. The speaker is so heavy, you really need to find a solid place to mount it. I ended up putting it inside the bumper of my F150 just behind the panel that holds the license plate. One thing that disappointed me was the lack of installation hardware. I ended up buying a new 1/4 drill bit to get through the metal (cobalt coated or something). I also had to go to Home Depot and buy 1/4 inch bolts, washers and nuts. I did all 4 mounting points because of the speaker weight. Wiring wasn't too hard, and I've never done anything like this before, but I only did the basics and will find the stereo wiring later. It is LOUD! The honk, siren and voice projection are awesome. I'm very pleased.

Super Loud and Fun — Great for Off-Road or Private Use
This LAMPHUS SoundAlert 100W siren is seriously loud and a ton of fun to mess around with. I had my stereo guy install it under the hood, and even hidden, the sound carries perfectly. Definitely a great way to surprise your friends or add some excitement while camping or off-roading. I’m not sure if it’s legal to use on public roads (probably not), so I play it safe and only use it in private settings. But for those purposes, it’s awesome. The sound options are loud, clear, and definitely attention-grabbing. It came well packed and showed up right on time.
