Q: can it be easily folded to put in the car?

Lifting up on the strap under the seat folds the rollator but doesn't keep it closed! If you want to lock your rollator or walker in the folded position check out the Rollastraps that help easily fold then lock the rollator in the folded position. Plus have the added advantages of hanging up your rollator for storage, securing items to your rollator, even locking the brakes. Q: Good for elderly mother with knee pain?

After looking at walkers online, I decided to look at them in person at a medical equipment store. I strongly advise taking that route. It costs a bit more, but you'll get one adjusted exactly for you. I'm very short, 4'10', and needed it set at height that would help me to stand up straight. I ended up with a model very similar to this, but in chrome blue. I felt like I was getting a new skateboard! If you go to a store, you'll see the variety of walkers made for people of all heights and builds. You don't want to get the wrong one and end up in more pain!

Q: what needs to be installed

While the handles are the only part needing installation I'm not sure how anyone would properly install handle screws without some kind of plyers. Also at 5'10" I consider myself of average height and to avoid toppling the unit I had to install the handles at 3 holes what I preferred to use
