Disappointed
Camping Paleo can be a challenge as brands like Mountain House have very little to offer for non-rice or potato options. When I saw this I was very excited. I was a little let down by the short shelf life. Mountain House having been tested after 30 years to be fresh (probably not the best word choice) and this only lasting 13 months. After 12 miles of hiking I settled in to camp got the water boiling and followed the directions on the packet. After a day or two of backpacking I am pretty hungry and flavor is not as crucial a factor as say if I were eating out in a restaurant. But there is a minimum level I expect, this did not meet that level. It had no flavor at all and the consistency of wet Styrofoam. I kept trying to stir up flavoring from the bottom but it just was not there. My advice to the company would be to invest in a little seasoning, it won't go bad and it will make your meals palatable. I still have the beef stew to try so maybe it is just this flavor that was awful. You can buy freeze dried chicken and broccoli as separate items go ahead and do that add a little salt, maybe some rosemary, or Cajun seasoning and take that with you. Trust me it will be a lot cheaper and better.

Not Buying Again
I am super supportive of the healthier meal idea while camping instead of the meals that have 90% of your recommended sodium. So kudos for being better there at 29%. But wow, the flavor is not good.First, I didn't read the package well before taking on a hike and it says add salt, pepper, and ghee (or butter). Who carries this separately while hiking? Would it kill you to make it a more completely seasoned meal INSIDE the package? And Second, I can't believe I just paid $13 for that underwhelmingly bad meal for one when I can grab a much tastier "GOOD TO-GO" meal that serves 2 for the same price. I would not recommend your business until you A) fix your flavors, and B) fix your portions. This was just overall so disappointing. Try again.

Terrible! Caused really bad gas for all of us
To start off with I’ll say that the flavor was ok but I don’t expect much out of meals like this. Honestly I’ve had worse and better tasting. The real issue here was that it gave all of us horrible broccoli smelling gas on our backpacking trip. And I don’t mean just a few farts I’m talking bent over in pain and bloated so your pack won’t fit you. I’ve never had a reaction to anything! In my life! Like this! Another thing to note, these packs take longer than directed to rehydrate. We were not at high elevation, I used boiling hot water and even after an hour of sitting it still wasn’t fully rehydrated. So expensive but ended up throwing the extra packs I bought away and just eating jerky and honey sticks :( . Going without meals was better than experiencing stomach pain like that again. I should also add that I eat broccoli on a weekly basis and don’t have stomach pain like this caused.

Not paleo but I loved this
Tastes like yummy health stuff you'd find in a quality "woked" restaurant. Absolutely loved it.It's pricey, and since I'm not paleo I won't be a frequent flyer, but I think I'll buy it again as a backpacking treat. Treat my body and my tastebuds. And, again, since I'm not paleo, I crushed up some crackers in there for some texture/carbs and man that was good. I think it'd go really well with some toast or rice too.My diet restriction is fat and red meat. This has a very good fat to calorie ratio that is very hard to find in paleo food. Or vegetarian food. But it is a bit low on calories for someone on a serious hike with a heavy pack (310 when I'd probably say a meal should have no less than 500.) On it's own I'd consider it more a snack for a hungry hiker. But again I think it's a great treat and a good way to up your veggie intake if you're having issues with that with other backpacking food.

Surprisingly yummy!
There is a ton of chicken in this (Fitness Pal says that it was a full day of protein for me), which plumped up nicely and tasted like...Chicken! Also has discernible broccoli, spinach, asparagus, mushrooms and onion. The ingredients also list green bell pepper which I could not see (they don't need them anyway with all the green stuff), and a spice blend of spices, granulated onion and granulated garlic. The spice mix could be rejiggered to enhance the chicken flavor as it has a bit of a strange taste. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars, because otherwise it's a five star product all the way. The company packages the salt separated (what a nice touch!) so maybe they could make a spice packet? I ended up adding a chicken bouillon cube which masked whatever it was competing in there. Very easy: reconstituted with room temperature water, but yummier hot. Note: serving size says one per package, but it's more like two small servings (or one ginormous one.) Gluten Free, milk free, soy free, grain free, and nut free make this a home run. Will be trying the other varieties! Thank you Paleo Meals To Go!

VERY fast Shipping!!
I bought these because of the flavors/produce in such a unique form. They were totally alien to me so we tried them with dinner the day they arrived. Each of the fruits is clearly distinguishable both visually and in regard to its flavor. The time you are to allow them to sit after stirring in the hot water is between 5 and 15 minutes depending on your altitude. I'm at 50 feet above sea level, so allowed them to sit for 5 minutes. My husband and I were both unimpressed. However, the longer they were allowed to sit the better they got. This isn't something you'd serve for a dinner party, but for camping, hiking, survival, etc., it is excellent.

Nutrition Info Conflicting/ Bag doesn’t seal
Upside: Taste is good, better than expected.Downsides:- Packaging is poorly thought out. When you open it to remove the moisture pouch, you can’t properly seal the pouch to shake it because the tracks have the product gumming it up. This also affects your ability to properly seal the pouch during rehydration time. This completely defeats the purpose of using it for travel. (See pic attached)- Nutrition information. Simply put, what is advertised is not what is shown on the package received. If you’re planning a trip where you have to ensure certain amounts of protein, fat, sodium amounts/day, this is highly misleading. This applies to each of the breakfasts. (See pics attached)
