Book is very good. Amazon's packaging is terrible.
The has a a lot of great history of the distillery. However Amazon shipped the book with a larger heavy item from the same order without any packing material and the book was damaged.

An outstanding historical "Trace"!
Paul provides a superb history lesson on America’s early pioneers, Kentucky, Distilleries, the Whiskey Industry and Buffalo Trace. Buffalo, Barrels and Bourbon is a well researched and entertainly written book! I recommend it to anyone interested in American, Kentucky, Whiskey and Buffalo Trace history!

I love Buffalo, Barrels & Bourbon. It’s much more than a book about Buffalo Trace.
I love Buffalo, Barrels & Bourbon. It’s much more than a book about Buffalo Trace. It’s the story of the American Whiskey industry. This book tells the history of American whiskey with captivating detail. It also details the true story of how - with courage and perseverance - a family company ignited the current bourbon boom with Blanton’s and their other iconic brands. I know I LOVE it - because I have 25 pages turned down :)

This book traces the distillery from its humble beginning to modern day. Good tidbits of history through out.

Great book!
I bought this as a gift for my husband. He really enjoyed reading this before our trip to some distilleries in Kentucky.

Easy to read, lots of history packed in!
I enjoyed learning more about one of my favorite distilleries, and where some of the big names like Blantons, EH Taylor, Stagg, and Weller came from.

The Author is not a historian
Within a few pages you are sure of two things, one the author believes he is better than you. (Strange message to convey to the reader) Secondly, he really dislikes America. Also something that seemed unnecessary based on the audience for this book. In college I learned never trust "history books" that uses lots of adjectives to describe groups of people or time. This book is littered with them. It also has plenty of historical falsehoods. Including General Wilkerson leading the plot to overthrow General Washington. (That was John Adams not Conway as some suggest.) That General Gates was anything other than a complete failure and even more laughable, that he was the reason for the victory at Saratoga. (That was General Arnold) The author takes every attempt to show distain for our Founders and America in general. This book enrages (more so if you are from the South) instead of entertain or inform.
