It looks kind of brownish in the product photo, but it’s a nice matte black color. The tubes are fused together but I wanted them separate, so I sawed them apart, which was easy with a common hand saw. It also revealed the black finish is a glaze coating a terracotta base. I don’t mind, it’s simple to hide that in the way you position it or cover it with epiphytic plants, just be careful not to scratch or chip it in other areas.This item is hand made, so it has a nice organic aesthetic. It also means the openings and interiors are a little irregular and ranged from about 1.5cm to 2cm in diameter. I was hoping they would be a little bit smaller as they’re large enough that some bettas could fit inside (and possibly get stuck) so have your epiphytes of choice ready to narrow/obstruct the entrances if you plan to use this to shelter shrimp from a betta.

This was just shipped in a standard box with a thin layer of bubble wrap around it thrown into a standard amazon bubble mailer. Mine arrived slightly broken however it does still work I guess? I just discarded the broken pieces and put the broken side facing the back of the tank.It seems nice but there needs to be better packaging. I'm surprised all of them don't arrive broken.

My shrimp immediately took to it. Arrived in one piece. Now they have a safer space against the other fish in my tank

My cherry shrimp love this and spend most of their time inside of it.

this item is black and brand new. i cant tell if shrimps go in it because its dark so i wouldn't be able to tell. but it is nicely made and theoretically might work.

The shrimps go in these tubes and thats what I bought them for so 5/5 thumbs up like and subscribe.

Very happy with this product - exactly as described, blends nicely into my black sand. Provides a nice haven for my red cherry shrimp.
