excellent portable steam vac
I got this as a Christmas gift for my wife. It went well with the gift of stomach flu, given by our 3-year-old niece. We wanted a portable steam vac for spot-treating carpet and upholstery. We have a large hoover with a hose, but it's very big, and has an awful lot of things to unpack, fill up, and later clean / dry / put away. For better or worse we were able to use this little guy about a dozen times in the days following Christmas. It generates a LOT of very hot steam, and the suction is at least as good as the hoover, if not better. The only downside to this unit is that the onboard water tank is *only* for steam; it doesn't have a "rinse" function. I'm still rating this 5* because the additional water storage would make the unit too big, and the problem is easily remedied with a spray bottle of fresh water. That very minor issue aside, the unit is very handy. It easily cleaned the arms of our recliner, the recesses of the couch, the sides of chairs, the carpets, and a pillow. The cord is long enough that we didn't require an extension.Cleanup is also very easy: dump out the fresh water tank, and the front tank + filter disassemble into 4 pieces (including the brush or squeegee nozzle) and can be quickly rinsed and dried. It's not cheap, but worth every penny.

Good, strong steam cleaner with one bug.
This steam cleaner produces lots of steam quickly and the vacuum is strong. The only complaint that I have is that I have to use a rubber band to keep the nose piece secure. The clip intended to secure the nose piece does not work. We have lots of strong rubber bands so this is not a big complaint.

Useless for my purposes, but not terrible...
My search for the illusive steam Vac continues. I do not know what's so difficult about making a device which dispenses steam and vacuums it up simultaneously. This handheld Vac supplies 2 kinds of steam, a dry steam and a wet steam. It heats up in 30 seconds flat which is impressive, but that's where the praise ends. While it does steam and it does Vac, these two are separate processes. You can either steam, or u can Vac, but u can't do both. Cleaning vertical surfaces are an impossibility as well. When the Vac is turned vertical the Vac thinks the tank is full and won't suction anymore. Not a whole lot of power, and a bit awkward to use as just a steamer, but the quality of the steam and speed to boil is impressive. Unfortunately, that alone given its form is of no use to me. Lastly, the dirty water tank is held down by a cam buckle which releases unintentionally quite often. A very inconvenient design flaw.

Vapamore MR-50 Steam Vac
I bought this item about three months ago. It was exactly what I was looking for and I couldn't find anything else quite like it at this price point. It was purchased after a perfect storm; old dog - new carpeting - house-sitter. There were two urine spots that had been sitting for about one or two days. We tried to get them up by following the instructions given by the carpet installer. This helped a little but it wasn't until we used the MR-50 that they disappeared. This was almost a week later. A few weeks after that, Rocky had other 'accident'. This one didn't sit for long and the MR-50 easily took care of the stain.Set-up was a snap and its very easy to use. Cleaning the MR-50 was pretty simple. I've only used it twice so I cannot comment on its durability or reliability.

Two months, a pretty expensive rental.
As the headline states, we've had the MR-50 for about two months, and for $150, we probably could've rented a professional cleaner for that price. Today, it no longer works. Well, let me rephrase that, because the vacuum still operates. Unfortunately, the vacuum function would've been the one thing I marked down in terms of functionality had I written this review yesterday. It is not very powerful and will leave the floor very wet, so I would typically only use the steam and follow it up with a wet/dry vac. But, alas, I went to turn the unit on today and no steam. Just a horrible burning odor, most likely from the coil. I actually had to get it out of the house as the fumes were burning my nose. What makes things worse is the apparent lack of warranty. I can't find anything relating to a manufacturers warranty so if I'm missing something please let me know. All-in-all, the wet steam worked well, the vacuum sucked and not in a good way, and the longevity (or lack thereof) of the product deserves less than one star.

Works fine
Good tools are so hard to find. This is perfect for small tasks. Refilling the water is a little bit of a hassle but I guess that keeps the thing from over heating. I just steamed my car windows and steam vac'd the seats. It would have cost $150 for a detail so it already paid for itself. I am happy the steam is not hot yet still cleans well. Safer than other steamers I have used.

Saves my carpet from the pug!
My pug puppy refuses to be potty trained and keeps weeing all over my carpet. This machine works quickly to suck up all the wee, and because it uses water (steam), you don't have to worry about having to buy expensive cleaners to add to it, unlike my large Bissel machine. To use it, you add some water to the reservoir, turn on the wet steam, steam the affected area for a minute or so, and then turn on the suction. That's it. Highly recommend for pet owners. It's small and that makes it a lot easier to grab and use then a large upright machine. I haven't used it for any other purpose than cleaning up pet mess so I cannot comment as to its effectiveness for other uses.

GOOD FOR QUICK CLEANUPS NOT FOR LARGE ONES
the rubber gaskets on the filter fall off and it makes it hard to click it closed without having to fuss with them
