Bond Cars: The Definitive History

Good book, but not definitive.......
Oddly, this book has very little coverage of the unique Aston Martin DB10, only the second car specially made for a Bond film (the other was the convertible Toyota 2000 GT from You Only Live Twice, but that was largely an existing design). A bit of text about it, and a couple of poor photos of half of the car! It covers the latest film No Time To Die quite well, also the origins of the DB5 starting in Goldfinger, and Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me plus many more. But disappointed on the Spectre coverage. Some cars covered very well, like the DB5, some could have been more thoroughly researched. Over 330 pages, so good value for money. Buy it? Yes.

Way beyond my expectations…
This is not a book about James Bond’s cars, this is a book about all the cars in the Bond films including some you probably didn’t even notice. The detail in the book is fabulous, there’s receipts showing who owned the cars and how much they were hired for and for the damages caused.I’m not easily impressed but this was way beyond what I expected. Incredibly detailed, fabulous pictures, and not just car pictures.I was shopping for Christmas presents when I saw this and as a car fanatic I thought I’ll treat myself to a Christmas present, never done that before and probably will never do it again. An absolute delight of a book and whilst the cars and the pictures are fabulous, it also gave me an unbelievable insight into how movies are made.A must buy!To those that are celebrating it and that definitely includes me, have a Fabulous Christmas and a Wonderful New Year and to the people who aren’t celebrating it for whatever reason I hope you enjoy the holidays and have a great time.KB.

Good... but not without omissions!
For a 'Definitive History' on Bond cars, I suggest to look elsewhere. Strangely omitting any reference to Cortina d'Ampezzo, a major location in For Your Eyes Only, and where the bronze Lotus Esprit Turbo featured. This car being covered by just two photos. Being this is my favourite Bond film and car, that was disappointing. Also, as another reviewer pointed out, not enough about the DB10 from Spectre. Despite these glaring omissions, an enjoyable book.

Buy the non limited edition!!
Treat yourself to the non limited edition as opposed to this. The slip is okay but the extra contents are not worth it. 3 postcards and a repro folded poster. Not worth and extra £20!!At least cheaper on Amazon than 007 store:

Lovely book.
The book was pushed through my elderly neighbours letter box, not mine, it is a wonder it was not damaged. Two corners of the box were ripped where it had been forced through the letter box. The book does not have an outer sleeve and no additional packaging apart from the box it came in. Fortunately it is in one piece, as this is a Christmas gift for my son.
