Bower SLY14VDSE Super-Wide 14mm T/3.1 Digital Cine Lens for Sony E (NEX) Camera

This lens makes amazing images for it's price. I have a set of these Rokinon/Bower lenses and they hold their own with much more expensive glass. It's manual focus only. As a Filmmaker, that's cool. Using a remote follow focus with these is simple and reliable. On a steadicam or gimbal with a crop sensor camera you get approximately 21mm FOV. I personally like the ultrawide look for some video sequences. This lens delivers.Build quality is better than expected for the price. Holds up well in my camera bag. It is a heavy piece of glass.There is some "mustache" distortion. For photos it's a non issue. Video is a different story. It's there. But I would rather have that distortion than the typical fisheye look from many ultrawides. Straight lines matter for some work. Is this the perfect lens for every ultrawide capture? Nope. It's really good for some things though.Compared to the 10mm Rokinon for crop sensor and a Sigma 15mm f3.5, I can't say for sure which I'd rather keep. Will update with more info and a comparison in the near future. For now, if you are considering this lens. Go for it. The price is low and they retain a decent resale value. Not much to lose.

Ordered it for Canon DSLR which according to description details it should have fit my camera. The fitting wasn't even close. My guess is I received the lens for a Nikon, Sony, or other brand. I'm returning it. Was thinking of having another sent out but worried it will be the same issue. In the meantime I asked for full refund. Really disappointed!
