Hand tool Workmanship file set of 5 ST-06 from Japan

Quality is very good, much higher than no-brand files and almost as good as premium machinist brands. Perfect price/performance for more people. The medium size is unusual but very convenient.

Best files I have ever used, period. I not to big, can work on hobby sized stuff, not to small to break, and sharp As .... can be. They could cost 4 times more and they would still be worth the price.

These are night and day better than the sets that sell for ten dollars less. They just work. They took two months to arrive because they normally take a few weeks and my first package never made it to the carrier. That wasn’t the company’s fault though. If you can wait, they are definitely worth it. You’re not going to get the same smoothness and material removal out of the cheaper name brand sets.

Look, if you're just doing simple stuff periodically, sure you can get away with the cheap files and their diamond coatings or whatever. But if you are doing fine work and need more precise and consistent control, this is the best entry-level set I've found. After this, you'll step up to the Swiss pattern files at several times the price. Those are worth it too if you need the best -- but these are plenty good for high quality and consistent hobby-level work.

They are more expensive than most files of this size and type. But, they are ove a high enough quality that you will not be disappointed.

I needed some metal files that are sized somewhere between needle files and medium/large sized files. These fill that gap perfectly. They're well made, they cut well, and the different shapes make the set handy for numerous filing requirements. I purchased these out of the need for intermediate sized tools, and having purchased Tsubosan tools before I knew the quality would be high. Five stars, and I would buy again.
