25 Lovely and Unusual Designs in Grayscale by Molly Harrison – printed on one side of the page
The media could not be loaded. This is my second grayscale coloring book by Molly Harrison. While I usually use coloring pencils, I used alcohol-based markers with my first project in this book and I enjoyed it so much, I will continue with it. The designs are grayscale versions of Ms. Harrison's actual artwork. The designs are of young women's faces with beautiful elements, such as the night sky or flowers twisted throughout their hair.My first project was almost an abstract of a young woman though her face is shown realistically. I was able to use a wide choice of grays and purples for the sky and and for parts of her face. It was beautiful in a very understated way. The designs themselves are printed in a medium grayscale which allows for blending with pencils (which I used for her eye) as well as the translucent look of markers. This is what I found when while coloring and testing this book:25 Grayscale Designs from Molly Harrison's actual artworkPrinted on one side of CreateSpace typical white, thin non-perforated paperGlue BoundDesigns do not merge into the binding area. There is a framing line around the outside of each design so you can cut the page out without any design loss.Alcohol and water-based markers bleed through this paper (use a blotter page below the page you are working on if you use these.)Gel pens and India ink pens leave color shadows on the back of the page.Coloring pencils work well with this paper. You can put down light to heavy color, it blends and layers well. Hard lead pencils leave dents on the back of the page. I also suggest a blotter page when working with hard lead pencils as they can dent the next page as well.

Gorgeous Portraits With A Difference
I did hem and haw on this, because I was placing a big order and prioritizing what was chosen. This book went in because there are backgrounds, foregrounds, variety in fabrics, some diaphanous and some not. This book is not only beautiful, but it will teach many techniques over the course of the book.I have a trick I started using on grayscale, light or dark: use a Steadler or other brand square white eraser (vinyl) and erase the whole page. The topmost layer of gray will come off so your pencils or whatever you use won't lift off that first layer. The other layers of grayscale won't go anywhere, and I think it neatens up the colors pencil, ink or paint. (I mainly use wax pencil.)The art is really beautiful, with laces and all kinds of fabrics for you to practice on. I love this book and will buy another when I get through it all. It is full size, not purse-sized. It will fit in a tote easily, so you can take it with you. The paper is medium, with some tooth. The books that give me the most trouble have no tooth, but this is not one of those.

Great for beginners ❣️
I absolutely love this book and all the artwork there's not a page that I wouldn't color. And the grayscales just perfect not too light not too dark. I think it's perfect for beginners who are trying out grayscale. Go on and buy it you won't be disappointed. 😊

Gorgeous Images
Just arrived today and I'm already all over the book trying to figure out which picture to color first. This is my first grayscale coloring book (not first time doing it though) and I'm really happy I went with this one. I would say if it's your first time with grayscale this book may be a bit more advanced and to start with something simpler without as much dark gray shades and fine details. I'd also suggest using colored pencils with this one instead of markers. Not that you can't, but pencils will color over the darker shades better and be better for the detailed areas. If you do use markers, a brush tip and fine nib would be best.

THE SHADING ACTUALLY MAKES IT A BIT MORE DIFFICULT FOR ME TO COLOR AS ARTISTICALLY AS I LIKE.

love love love. pictures are too beautiful to really color but i love this book. amazing.
art work on this is beautiful its greyscale something I have never seen before its new to me, but it kind of reminds me of the old time pictures of my moms time where they had black and white photo's but certain things would have color in it but it would be very small.. I really like trying this new style out and suggest others to try the pictures are really pretty after and it doesn't take much to really brighten the pictures up I have been using pastels and neon's to make them pop.. only colored pencils.. markers and such just don't seem to do to well on the paper

Talented artist!
First I want to say how beautiful the art was! I was looking forward to my new coloring book, but was disappointed in the quality of the paper! As talented as this artist is why skimp. Charge a little more and upgrade the paper.

Excellent book. A must have
Oh my Goddess, this book totally rocks. This is my favorite book out of 94 coloring books I have. I have had it for a few months and have colored half of the pages using Inktense pencils. The pictures come out beautiful. I am so pleased with this book . I highly recommend this book to everyone. I have shown pictures on the Facebook coloring groups I belong to six people have already bought in this book from that group because they liked my pictures I posted my five favorite ones I have done so far

Toooo much grayscale
The grayscale needed to be edited better because it’s not crisp and clear on the images and far too dark on many of them. I’ve heard some of their other books are better so I will give them a shot! :)

imaginative work
Have just got this book very different pictures to what I normally do but I like a challenge. Most of the pictures look the same with subtle twists. If you've never done grey scale before this v is a great book for starting also learning how to paint faces, light bone structure, makeup can all be done on these letting your imagination go.Really fun book to do using whatever you feel more comfortable with, I find blendable oil based pencils work the best but it's entirely your choice.
