Q: Does this have portion control?

Easy.Press the plunger one full stroke and exact amount comes out each time. The plunger has a little cup that moves to adjust each stroke. Works perfect everytime but make 100% certain it is cleaned thoroughly at the end of the day. Dry "junk" screws with the portion control. Easy to clean

Q: Can it be portion down low enough to make hushpuppies?

I think so but hushpuppies are what, 1/2 oz or so. It can go pretty small though

Q: Can this belshaw K type make hushpuppies

Never tried hushpuppies but I would say No. It is really designed for pancake batter. If the batter is too thick, you will have an issue. The batter needs to be free flowing. If you go to the Belshaw website, they may have someting that is designed for thick items?? Good luck.

Q: Will this dispense cake donuts?

Sorry, this product is really just designed for pancakes. The batter for cake donuts is just a little too thick. Hope this helped.
