Wanted to get something that's visually interesting for the home office. No particular reason for choosing this over the other levitating pots listed other than because the color of the base was appealing to me. First of all, the base is not actually made of wood and the surface is a veneer. The pot is also plastic with a ceramic look. This is fine though since the material quality is fairly good. There is a fairly large magnet embedded inside a chamber at bottom of the pot and it does protrude into the pot, which reduces the volume of soil that you can put inside a bit. Placing the pot on the stand required some gentle maneuvering but once you find the right magnetic zone the stand will "lock" the pot in place, and it's suprisingly strong - there's no chance the pot will float or slip off on its own. The field is also strong enough that I'm confident it will hold up the pot plus however much soil/plant you can reasonably fit inside it. I only had a small pot of fern on hand that would fit in this so I tried it. It's not pretty but it worked well although the pot constantly spins due to the plant not being perfectly balanced in weight distribution. I think this can be fixed by adjusting the plant but right now it doesn't bother me. Yes you can manually spin the pot by hand and it'll basically keep going for a long time until air friction eventually slows it back down. Overall it's basically exactly as advertised and I'm pretty happy with it. Hopefully longevity will be good.
