DeStat III - Great Device for Static Removal
I was initially skeptical about the Furutech DeStat III, but after consistent use, I can confidently say it makes a real difference. This isn’t just another audiophile gadget—it’s a precision tool that enhances playback quality in a noticeable way. Static can be a silent killer of dynamics, clarity, and tonal balance. The DeStat III effectively neutralizes static buildup from my vinyl records, stylus, and even cables. The result? A blacker background, more open highs, and better-defined mids. I’ve also noticed fewer pops and crackles, especially on freshly cleaned records. The build quality is excellent—solid, ergonomic, and thoughtfully designed. The fan operates quietly, and the overall presentation feels like a premium, purpose-built product. It’s now part of my regular vinyl cleaning and playback ritual, right alongside my Humminguru and TergiKleen setup. For anyone serious about extracting every ounce of performance from their analog system, the DeStat III is a smart and worthy investment.

Really works..!!
I was not very sure if I will notice a difference between the Destat III and the Zerostat. But I can say that yes, the Destat is better. Simple to use and remove the static fully. it's more money than the Zerostat but worth it how simple the process and effective can be.

It really works.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Listening to Lps just got static free. Completely. It works and now things are better.

This DSTAT WORKS
I received the Furutech III before the estimate arrival. The 4 stars are for being such high price and NO INSTRUCTIONS.. A lot of pretty carboard and guarantees. NO guidance to inset the A-A cells. NO markings on the battery compartment either. NO instructions included how to use the device on vinyl records. Furutech has a few useless videos online and comments turned off. I'll have to say for the ALMOST $400 price tag from Amazon that this unit consistently reduces or eliminates static on your record albums. I'm not going to create a lot of verbiage how to use it or insert the batteries. It's not rocket science. Just sayin'

The best static remover for vinyl records
I have used many anti-static liquids and static-removing devices are available on the market in the past dozens of years — some inexpensive, others costly. Most of them works as they should. But I can easily recommend this particular product because of its easy-to-use operation with one button push, adquate size for vinyl LP records. Ultrasonic cleaning before the static-removing will make your analogue life much comfortable and rewarding.

Works as described
If you’re someone who cleans your records and stores them properly, this is the missing step for nearly dead silent, beautiful, revealing playback! I was thoroughly impressed with how effective it is. It is pricey, but if you are serious about quality listening and love the warmth of what vinyl delivers verses digital, it’s well worth the money.

Does not remove dust
The device removes static charge (which can be done cheaper and faster with a Zerostat) but does not begin to blow hard enough to remove dust. This is easily demonstrated by using a brush after the Destat. You don't have to play the record and listen to tell that the dust is still there; you can see the dust is there when you sweep it into a pile with a brush. In summary, it is fraudulently advertised, does half of what it's advertised to do, and costs a premium. Final note: the manual does not even mention dust removal as a capability. Disgraceful.

Virtually dead quite vinyl especially on good pressings. Best results when the record is held ...
Dramatic improvement over a brush only. Combination of Destat III and Acous Tech The Big Record Brush provide for an exceptionally clean and static free record. I have a very dry basement and lint/dust just cling to everything. The Destat III makes a noticeable difference in playback. Virtually dead quite vinyl especially on good pressings. Best results when the record is held in my hand not on the platter. Very easy to use. Simply push the button and hover over the record.

Best product I have ever used to remove static charge from records before cleaning/playing. Note this product is an ionizer and the fan is used to direct neutralizing charged air onto the record and is not meant to be used to clean a record. Must have product if you live in a low humidity environment.

Anyone who has ever read reviews about HIFI and the wonder cures for all manner of items that will make your precious vinyl sing like a linnet, but it sounds more like a lighthouse foghorn when you get it home, we have all been sold a pup and felt stupid and angry for falling for the fine words and hard sell lies that get told time and again, well when you read about how good the Furutech DeStat III is at eliminating the static electricity from your record collection, keep listening, and when the nagging voice (not the wife this time) tells you "it's expensive and I don't want to make a mistake that costs so much", you can be sure that this time it will have a happy ending. Yes of course I was sceptical, I was £300 sceptical and that isn't a little bit sceptical in my mind, yes I have a Zerostat 3 that needs no batteries, but I would use it before playing an album, it is a bit of a palaver, trying to pull the trigger slowly enough yet wondering if it is actually doing anything, holding the record while holding the gun while trying to not pull the trigger too quickly, it was hit and miss and so were the results, well not really, there were always some pops and clicks and they always seemed to be in the quiet parts. I eventually pulled the trigger for the last time and ordered the Furutech III, I also bought a little gadget that measures static electricity, getting toward Winter 2021 the Furutech III arrived, so simple to use, stupidly simple in fact, in my haste I forgot to use the static measuring meter, so I went to try with a different record, sure enough there was static, why wouldn't there be? So 15 seconds with the Furutech III and another measuring, the only two flickers of static were a 0.1 & 0.3, out of interest I measured the other side of the record, it flickered once briefly to 0.1 that was it, nothing to speak of, I have waited until now because I wanted to give the static electricity a fighting chance. I have a very occasional pop on a record, but that could be a speck of dust that the brush missed, is £300 a lot of money? Yes of course it is, is not having static pops and clicks while listening to your favourite/all your vinyl collection worth £300, for me there is only one answer and that is a resounding yes. A quick note, there is a fan that blows like an asthmatic mouse on to the record, I have seen a comment that it's to get rid of dust from the record, I honestly don't believe it is for this, but I really don't know what it is there for, it is so weak it won't remove dust, it may be to spread the magic that gets rid of the evil static, I really don't know it's reason for being there, it doesn't interfere with the working of the unit though.
