The initial design idea was to make an attractive box to store remote controls [TV, VCR etc.] and..keeping them in one place, and limiting their access with a puzzle lock. The interior measurements are 3 1/2" wide 3 1/2" high by 8 1/2" long. Of course you can put anything you want into your box. In addition there is a small hiding place located in the top of the box [see photos]. NOW-available by special order only. The locking mechanism [Brass, Aluminum, Walnut, ] requires a bit of dexterity, akin to picking a lock although once learned opening and closing becomes quite easy, fast; and baffling to anyone looking on. There is also an ' open easy' position so that the 'uninitiated' can access the box. Instructions are included The Materials used are wood , brass, aluminum , felt bottom liner and footpads, the finish; shellac and wax; very lightly distressed as to appear like a well-kept vintage box. The boxes pictured are the ones for sale; they are made by hand and vary slightly from unit to unit.
