Best EDC knive I've owned.
What a great knife! Excellent blade steel - holds an edge well. Very light weight - even when i carry in my dress pants, i can hardly feel it. Very easy to open and close one-handed. Great utility - i can use it for slicing apples and food prep, cutting cardboard, stripping wire, etc. Pretty thin and - did i say, really light weight? The opening/closing was a bit "gritty" when i first got it as some of the other reviews said. However, within a week it was smooth as glass. The opening finger tab works great and the closing is smooth and postiive. The "XR Lock" is just perfect and works righty or lefty.I don't write many reviews, but this knife really hits the sweet spot. I paid about $112 for it. Not the cheapest but for me, the best value by a huge margin. I'm not an expert so maybe there are other knives out there as good for the money. But if i loose this one, i'll go buy another just like it!

Unbeatable value with some minor flaws
I almost never write reviews, but it is almost criminal how few ratings this product has in comparison to all of the other folding knives in its class. My first 'real' knife was a Kershaw Blur which has assisted opening and uses 14C28N which is a great budget steel, but I didn't use it for EDC since it was too heavy and did not have a deep insert pocket clip.My biggest complaint about the SOG Terminus XR LTE is that XR lock, while excellent, is a bit stiff and does take a while to be broken in (wish it was easier to close the knife one-handed with just one finger). The flipper tab and thumb studs could be less sharp and not stick out as much. I also wish it was a bit thinner and have built-in grips as it can be harder to hold firmly.I have since owned cheaper and more expensive knives from Benchmade, Hogue, Zero Tolerance, Kershaw, CRKT, Gerber, and Civivi, all with different features (axis, button, and liner locks, serrated and tanto edge, Magnacut, 20CV, S30V, D2, 8Cr13MoV steels, longer 3.5" blade, skinnier frame), but this one is still my favorite all-rounder. Since this has a non-assisted action, I do recommend applying some knife oil, otherwise it is hard to consistently open the knife via flipper in a single motion. You get a lot of high end features for your dollar (S35VN steel, light carbon fiber body, XR lock), and while I have a few complaints and ideas for improvement, I do not believe you can get anything similar at the ~$100 price point. Unbeatable value and highly recommended.

Well put together
Very well put together and out of the box sharp. Every one would say to sharpen after factory and while I have a sharpener, I don’t feel it’s needed yet. The compressed carbon fiber seems to hold up well and I love the steel durability. No wiggle in the blade and locks in place with no movement. Dollar for dollar in comparison with other knifes, this was a great deal due to the steel and the build quality.

Great daily carry
Love this as a daily carry. It is light and holding up well.

T6 screws, pivot ROTATES.
First off, the knife is good but SOG really screwed up a few things. 3 stars cause i do like the knife... after i fixed it. During the process of fixing it i was ready to toss it in the bottom of the drawer and never touch it again.*EVERY* screw on the knife is a T6, including the rotating pivot screw. While most quality knives do T8 or T10 for the pivot screw, SOG decided to go with the super easy to strip T6. (I stripped 1 T6 bit, almost stripped a 2nd one but luckily the screw heads are fine)There are 3 sets of screws holding the knife together, 6 in total. each set is screwed into a barrel, So each "set" is 3 pieces. The barrels have an indent, which the purpose of that indent is to STOP the barrel from ROTATING. But SOG decided to NOT place a corresponding indent on the scales in any of the 3 sets.Want to clean/adjust the knife? get 2 T6 screwdrivers out and hold that knife still.... cause SOG placed a super generous amount of loctite on them.I had to really heat up each one with a soldering iron to even attempt to break them free to adjust the knife. The XR lock was super strong out of the box (twice if not more force required to pull back than any other Axis style locks I have. BTW Kizer's Clutch Lock is now the ultimate version of the Axis lock... Benchmade falls to #2)After finally getting them all out I adjusted the Omega spring to be lighter, knife works great now and can easily pull the XR lock with a single finger on either side. Before it required both sides to be pulled and needed a good amount of force.I've tested out another SOG terminus at a retail store, that XR lock was also stiffer than a standard Axis lock, but not as stiff as mine was.Rotating pivot barrel, and stiff Omega springs. Beyond that the knife is good.Lightweight, ball bearings let that blade rotate super easily. Now SOG needs to make a 3.5" version and actually place indents in the scales to stop the barrels from rotating. and USE A T8/T10 for the pivot screw!
